Finally selling off my Prizm because my wife insists I part with it. I'm the original owner, having bought it new in Fall 2002 at Ourisman Chevrolet in Bowie MD. It has been registered in DC and driven mainly on city streets for the entire time. The engine is still running quite well - no knocking or oil leaks. The transmission shifts smoothly. However, those are about the only good things about the car. History : For the first 12 years, the car was driven on average about 8-8.5k miles per year, with much of the highway miles being trips back and forth between DC and New York or Massachusetts. Since then, the car has almost exclusively been driven in the DC metro area, mostly to shuttle my kids back and forth between home and school and other parts of town. A lot of the recent use has been by the live-in au pairs we have employed to take care of my kids. The car was in a fairly serious accident that dented the rear right side and destroyed the old rear bumper (disregard the Experian report accompanying that eBay provides - it's not accurate). I was going to just get rid of the car by the time of my next inspection, but DC had just gotten rid of safety checks and so even with all the visible damage, it wound up passing inspection. So I decided to keep the car longer. Later, I had a local Central American guy bang out the dents and the bumper replaced. However, the light that illuminates the license plate was not reinstalled properly. I purposely told the him to not repair it after realizing that speed cameras can't read the plate without it being illuminated at night. The car has lasted me this long even though I've put very little money into it in the last 5 years. It again passed DC inspection on Feb. 26, 2019. If you are buying this to actually drive and not put a lot of money into it, the car is very unlikely to pass inspection in any jurisdiction that does safety checks. For nearby states, that means that this is not a good vehicle to buy if you live in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania or Delaware. You might have better luck in Maryland or New Jersey. And of course in DC, you are good to go for another two years. Here are some safety issues you should know about:1. Steering needs alignment - car drifts to the left.2. Outer glass on front driver blinker damaged, but the lights work3. Rear passenger side outer glass damaged, but the lights works.4. Tires have a lot of wear; they should be replaced.5. Brakes probably need servicing; probably not much life left in them.6. Battery needs replacement - can no longer start without jumpstarting or external battery connection. Cosmetic and functional issues:1. A/C freon is depleted2. Rear window handles were removed and I can't find them (my kids kept rolling them down and that's how I dealt with the issue). You can also see that I let them draw on the rear doors. 3. Handle to open driver side front door is broken; you need to roll down the window and open door from outside handle.4. Roof upholstery is ripped up.5. Some minor dents in addition to the rear damage6. Visible rust Please feel free to text me at NINE WON SEVEN FIVE THREE SIX TOO SEVEN SEVEN FOR for more information.

Notes: 1. I've accepted a cash deposit. If you are local, please message me directly - you are welcome to a test-drive but I can't make any commitments unless the current buyer backs out. Otherwise, I am only considering offers through the eBay system from residents of New Jersey and Connecticut. 2. If you are buying this to actually drive and not put a lot of money into it, the car is very unlikely to pass inspection in any jurisdiction that does safety checks. You are obviously good good to go in DC for another two years but I think the nearest state you can get away with using this car as-is would be New Jersey. Here are some safety issues you should know about:1. Steering needs alignment - car drifts to the left.2. Outer glass on front driver blinker damaged, but the lights work3. Rear passenger side outer glass damaged.4. Tires have a lot of wear; they should be replaced.5. Brakes probably need servicing; probably not much life left in them.6. Battery may need replacement - for about 6 weeks, the car wouldn't start without the help of a portable battery. The issue somehow just went away around 4/8/19. Maybe it's just the battery accepting a charge now that the ambient air temperature is hotter. Maybe it's something else. I do know that the issue is not a bad alternator. 7. Right side rear running light doesn't work, and it's not a faulty light bulb. Brake lights only work some of the time and I'm not sure what's the rhyme or reason. Cosmetic and functional issues:1. A/C freon is depleted2. Rear window handles were removed and I can't find them (my kids kept rolling them down and that's how I dealt with the issue).
