Used 2001 Chrysler (Plymouth) Prowler. 24,800 mileage (4/25/2019). Plymouth manufactured the Prowler from 1997 until mid-2001. Vehicles produced from the same factory assembly line were labeled as a Chrysler Prowler after mid-2001. Only 11,578 vehicles were made for sale over the entire multi-year production of the Prowler. Of that total - 1,034 were painted Pearl Orange (Plymouth 689 / Chrysler 345). This item is a used Chrysler Prowler in Pearl Orange with only 24,800 miles to be sold "as-is", "no- warranty". For sale by the 13 year Private Party second Southern California owner (purchased in January 2006 at 7,400 miles). Vehicle always stored under a car cover while within an enclosed garage. New (Nitto NT 555 G2) tires P225/45HR17 (front) and P295/40HR20 (rear) just installed at 24,246 on 11/30/18 (see receipt photo), passed California smog check at 23,594 on 11/10/17. Vehicle serviced 2/20/2019 replaced the two engine belts with new from Gates, new anti-freeze / new Mobil 1 engine oil and new Mobil 1 filter / new engine air filter / new brake fluid / new power steering fluid, etc. New battery at 21,637 on 2/6/15. Vehicle Description For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a one owner 2002 Chrysler Prowler. Finished in the beautiful Inca Gold over black leather interior. 2002 was the last year of production on the Prowler, they only made 1436 of them, a total of 616 were painted Inca Gold, including 3 test cars. Chrysler designers were given free rein to design a 30s style hot rod roadster to follow up the show stopping Dodge Viper. Chip Foose helped with the design... by drawing up a coupe with similar proportions. Chysler's guys preferred a roadster so they chopped the top off that design and ended up with an open wheel, open top design that has since become immediately recognizable. Chrysler took this all new body design and stuffed in a 3.5 Liter V6 which made comparable power and torque figures to their V8 engines of the time. Power was transferred via a "torque tube" to a rear mounted 4-Speed automatic “AutoStick” transmission which helped with weight distribution. The later cars used an aluminum version of the 3.5L which also helped with weight. The majority of the chassis was aluminum as well to keep the weight down to improve performance both in a straight line and in the twistys. 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds was no problem as well as a 125+ mph top speed. Handling was also addressed and includes inboard coil over shocks up front with aluminum upper and lower control arms. Options for this 2002 Chrysler Prowler include Air Conditioning, AM/FM with CD Player, Manual Convertible Top, Driver/Passenger Airbag, Anti-Theft System, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Cruise Control, Keyless Entry, Leather Interior, Radial Tires, and Chrome Aluminum/Alloy Wheels.
