2003 Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo. 25,000 miles. Great condition inside and out! Runs great, needs nothing. 5sp manual. $30,000 engine upgrade to transmission, engine and brakes in 2006. 500 hp! This car has hit 160 mph easy with top speed of 220mph. Pioneer stereo system recently installed (800.00), front and rear radar/laser detectors, halon fire extinguishing system, etc. See attached sheet for upgrades to this car. Lotus, in these years, had a manufactures defect with the sleeves around the pistons. The sleeves were too short. This wasn't discovered until after the engine upgrade was done. This issue will happen to all Esprit V8's. This car is coming back from California having the repairs completed to alleviate this issue. The repairs were $15,000. As I said, this car needs nothing! $60,000 or best reasonable offer. Thanks for looking!

Update (01/03/18): I received a wealth of information from the previous owner about the engine rebuild completed in 2016. The engine was completely rebuilt without regard to cost and many upgraded parts were used (including forged pistons). In addition, many parts on the car were upgraded at that time, including suspension, cooling, and transmission internals. While I am keeping the asking price the same through the duration of this listing, I am more likely to increase the price if I relist the car and confirm and itemize all of the upgrades the previous owner made. I have not modified the description below to indicate the larger scope of the work done in 2016. 2001 Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo. A desirable late model V8 Esprit in silver with black leather. The previous owner installed some performance upgrades, including a Quaife LSD, and 2002 style sport exhaust. The engine was also partially rebuilt in 2016, as was the differential (during the LSD installation). Other than these upgrades it is very much a factory original car. This Esprit is in excellent condition, with only small cosmetic flaws here and there. I would say it is a solid Hagerty #2 condition, meaning not Concours. There is a small crack in the bottom left corner of the windshield that looks old and appears to have been filled with glass repair epoxy (see photo). There is some scratched paint on the edge of the wheels. The driver's side window trim strip has small paint chips. The shifter knob has some scratches. The silver paint is incredible and really accentuates the late model Esprit design details. In my opinion the pre-2002 Esprit V8s are the most beautiful iteration. The car comes with many parts receipts (mostly from JAE), including a new clutch and a Quaife LSD in 2013 and an engine rebuild in 2016. I don't see pistons on the rebuild parts receipts in 2016, so the rebuild might have just entailed new main and conrod bearings, along with gaskets and seals. The differential was also rebuilt when the LSD was installed. The LSD is an upgrade that I am told helps protect the transmission from failure. The exhaust is a very sporty (and loud) 2002 style, with little or no muffler. It does appear to retain the cats, and the factory 2001 style exhaust valence spoiler is included to make reverting to stock exhaust simple. I purchased the car from a Canadian seller earlier this year and imported it to the USA (It was sold new in California, so re-importing was easy). The car has a clean PA title in my name. While I think it is an incredible car and the ultimate Esprit, I am finding myself more interested in my Italian car projects. I am listing it here to see what offers I get and will either drive the car or pass it along. Please note that most of the photos are from the previous seller, the car has been in a climate controlled garage since. The first photo was taken when I received the car. If I get more serious about selling the car I will have it detailed and do a full set of beauty shots. The Esprit includes owners manuals, 2 extra keyless fobs, spare tire, and tool kit. All manuals, both keys, as well as service records back to 2006 are present. This rare Lotus shows no signs of previous collision damage, or winter related corrosion. Factory paint shows as it should with some slight chipping that is consistent with the age and mileage, and the interior shows no signs of sun damage, fading, shrinkage, or abnormal wear. Recent updates include: New OEM Battery, Raid Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel, tinted glass top, and adjustable ProTech Coilover suspension. Both the OEM steering wheel and body colored roof are present and will be sold with the vehicle. The engine and gearbox are dry with the exception of a slight seepage from the right valve cover gasket, and it features the Lotus Sport Stainless steel exhaust system by CLF. The plastic lower airdam on the nose shows some wear from the occasional steep driveway, but the painted nose itself shows little to no wear.Overall, this is a solid example of what is reknowned as the finest iteration of the Esprit.
