These Mazda Tribute’s are the cousin to the Ford Escape of the same model years, and share all the same mechanicals and most parts except for some cosmetics. Made in same factory. Parts are easy to get, and not costly. Condition & Ownership History: I have owned this SUV for about 7 years, and believe I am the second owner. The GOOD: 1. LOW MILES! Less than 7K per year! My family and I have owned a few of these Tribute/Escapes, and still have some working over 225K Miles! Engine and Transmission run strong. 2. In excellent mechanical condition. I have kept it well maintained, and fixed many of the common issues and wear points in the past 25K miles +/-, at cost over $4,500, including (Have most receipts for repairs): o 3 rear coils (hardest and most expensive to reach for labor) o Alternator (hard to reach for labor) o Total Exhaust System o Brakes (including lines, cylinders and many other non-normal wear parts) o All Shocks, Struts and Springs o Alignment o Battery o Headlight “pig ears” (the headlight bulb connectors which fail) 3. 2 New Front Tires last month; Plenty of Life on Rear Tires. 4. Navigation with Bluetooth, Handsfree Phone through Audio with Mic, USB and other connections. Radio is HD, and XM Radio ready (you need to buy a module). Allows you to hook up your smartphone as with more modern vehicles. 5. 2 Sets of Keys with Fobs (1 needs battery), plus 1 extra key. 6. Interior in near perfect shape. Power drivers’ seat. 7. New rear Glass hinges 4 months ago (common fail point). 8. All weather car mats and trunk liner. 9. Clear title in hand. The Not so Good: 1. The Auto Check system is displaying a “Mileage anomaly” before I bought this car. If you look at the details, it looks like the car mileage report varied in 2008 when it was reported as @ 57,000, then down to @52,000 somehow, but then was fixed and brought back up to 59,000. Have no idea what this was about, but it had about 59,000 when I bought it (you can see at new title listing), and in any event this was not a big gap and appears to have been corrected. 2. This is an almost 17 year old SUV. It has dings, scratches, some flaking paint, a couple rust spots, and a few minor dents. One rust area in the rear passenger door well might be advisable to repair just for longevity and to keep from getting worse. MAACO gave me a quote for $250 to fix it to primer. 3. I had a MINOR accident about 4 years ago that cosmetically damaged the front bumper, grill, and just happened to perfectly hit the sensor that launched the airbags! So they are relatively new. (From the front, it looked so minor. Like someone had punched a hole about the size of a dollar right just in the right place through the bumper into the sensor, so they went off!). Insurance replaced Bumper, some mounts, cables, the oil cooler, and both airbags. No frame or structure damage. Auto-Check doesn't even show this as an accident, but I'm telling you about it. 4. An Aftermarket In-roof factory look Sunroof was added by previous owner. It was a good job, but must’ve required removal of the headliner, as with time that headliner is starting to not cling to the roof so well in spots at windshield area. Not a problem to see or operate at all, but noticeable. The sunroof works, but I recommend you don’t use it. If it ever breaks open, it’ll cost half the price of the car to fix it! 5. The headlight lens plastic is getting a bit worn/yellowed from age. I already buffed them clear once about 3 years ago using a special 3M kit which worked great! Just needs it again to look better. They still look much better than most cars this age, and light not affected much. 6. Rear hatch actuator doesn’t work (won’t unlock from the key fob), so you use the key to unlock the rear deck. You can buy the parts for @$100 to fix, and there are great YouTube videos showing how to fix if you have some do-it-yourself skills. Shop wanted too much, and since you can just use the key to unlock, seemed a waste of my time and money. 7. Could use some new gas shocks for the glass rear hatch, but does not affect operation. 8. Rear Defroster has 3 out of about 9 lengths of the heating element that don’t work. Glass still gets clear, just take a bit longer. Wiper still works! Sale & Inspection Terms: If you need your spouse's permission.....don't bid. If you need to obtain financing approval after auction close....don't bid. Remainder due by Certified or Bank check upon vehicle delivery/shipping carrier pick-up.
