You are looking at my 2005 Buick Terraza. The following information is intended to provide a complete overview of both the good and bad aspects of this vehicle. The Terraza was Buick’s rendition of the Chevy Venture, Pontiac Montana, Saturn Relay, etc. It was the most luxurious and well equipped variant. In addition to leather, Buicks Quiet Tuning, etc. it also received an independent rear suspension, auto leveling air shocks in the rear, etc. MSRP in 2005 was $33,605. It will likely sell here for about what I paid in sales tax. This particular vehicle was purchased new, by myself, in August 2005. Having wrapped up college tuition payments for the moment, we splurged on a new vehicle and are thus listing this one for sale. So, lets start with the good. Overall, she is in really nice shape. From an appearance perspective you would never guess it is a 13 year old vehicle. Except for some minor scuffs and chips, the body is in great shape, paint still shines, not rusty, etc. Interior shows wear commensurate with age but has held up fairly well (more details in the bad). Never smoked in, no pets, no funny smells. The original CD player (comes with the car) was replaced with a Kenwood Head Unit with Garmin navigation which looks very much like a factory install. Mechanically, she runs very well, everything works including heat, A/C, electrical components, etc.. This van has had A LOT of work done on it over its 187,460 miles. Some of the more recent work (in last year) includes, new struts and shocks on all 4 corners, new General Altimax Tires all around (approx. 3k miles on them), new cat-back exhaust at which time the two oxygen sensors were also replaced. New rear rotors and pads, fronts were done the year prior at 170k miles. A few years ago the tranny was rebuilt by Mennan Transmission, it started slipping in June of last year so Meenan removed and redid it at 169,636 miles at which time they also did the front and rear main engine seals. Power steering rack was replaced at 143k miles, Somewhere in the last year or two the rear wheel hubs / bearings were also done. At 144,300 miles (2015) it received new Iridium Spark Plugs, Plug Wires, Coil Pack, serpentine belt, and motor mounts. Oil changes have always been at 3-5k miles using synthetic oil. Less recent items include, alternator, water pump, radiator, cooling fans, upper lower control arms and associated, etc. I have a lot of service records but not all of them. PA inspected thru June 2019.OK, that’s the good news let’s talk about the bad. I will go into detail simply because I do not want buyer to have any surprises.This is a 13 year old car with 187,460 miles. It was built in 2005 when GM still did not quite have its act fully together in terms of quality control. I’ll be honest, Toyotas and Hondas (with the exception of their transmissions) were far better built. You know those vehicles people talk about (often Japanese) that never needed anything beyond gas or oil? This is not one of those. As noted, a lot of stuff has been replaced over the years. She was in the shop for a wiring issue the first week of ownership. Since the day she was new I need to add a quart or two of oil between changes (GM claimed “normal use” when first reported under warranty). The one mechanical issue potential buyer should be aware of is that the “service stability system” light comes on fairly regularly. Sometimes it is within a mile, sometimes it is after 20+ miles. I have not had this checked, could be an ABS wheel sensor wire, could be something more significant. As noted, the interior is in pretty good shape but shows signs of its age. The driver’s seat has a small tear in side bolster and the front arm rest leather is not looking great. Carpets are decent and clean but have some stains that will likely never come out. The dash is in good shape but the plastic piece that sits between the dash and the windshield has cracked (taped as shown). The seat heaters gave up a long time ago. One of the rear seat fold down releases has a broken bit of plastic so to fold that seat I use a pair of pliers to grab the cable (works easily and well). The rear backup camera functions when it wants to. Only one of the two remote key fobs is working. Ah yes, here is a weird one. When you fill the gas tank all the way, the fuel gauge will drop to below empty. After about 20 miles it returns to normal and remains that way until next time you fill the tank. In 2010 another car hit the front quarter panel which deployed the driver's airbag (not sure anymore if it was left or right side, I think it was the left). Repair was done by Matus Brothers (best body shop in the region) using only genuine GM replacement parts with work done to an extremely high quality. Other than that, all the paint and body is original. Disclaimer: The good news is that you are getting a well-maintained vehicle with a lot of new parts for about the price of a new set of tires. It is being sold at NO Reserve. That said, this is NOT a new vehicle. It is 13 years old and has more than 187k miles on the odometer. Based on age and mileage alone, odds are pretty good that you will spend some money on some sort of repairs in the coming years. I have made every effort to provide a full and honest disclosure. I may have overlooked something that you would notice so please come see it, drive it, etc. before deciding if this is the vehicle for you. I am happy to answer any questions you may have during the auction. This vehicle is being sold AS IS and WHERE IS. While I believe and hope that it has many good miles left in it, there is NO Warranty of any sort provided or implied. Old stuff is old stuff. Something that is working perfectly right now could completely fail 5 miles from now. I wish the buyer all the best with it, but once it leaves my driveway it is yours for better or worse, in sickness or in health, whether it makes you richer or poorer. If you need the warranty or assurances that come with a new or CPO vehicle then please do not bid on this as none of that applies. A $200 PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close.
