I've enjoyed the car for 10 years. I bought it from a college student (a senior) who was getting married and moving away for $3500.I then replaced the cracked windshield ($100.), put in a new AM/FM CD ($200.) and right headlight component ($180) and just had the engine value gaskets replaced (it was due to mileage,not burning oil) $380 because I was debating about keeping it. Why am I selling it so cheaply. I own 2 trucks and am 69 years old and a little tired of "my toy" as my wife calls it. I want it to go to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have.It drives and runs very well...back tires are a little worn (but I know the tire shop I purchased them from --2 would cost $30. each) and to have it detailed would cost (up to $200) and all this I will deduct from the asking price.In the future I know you'll need a brake job, but not now.Also the convertible canvas top is in great shape except on one right side seem near the back window. I ran black Gorilla tape (as you can see in the photo) over the seem. No leakage what-so-ever. A new top with a plastic back window costs over $500..this one is a heated glass back window. So, I would forget about replacing it since you have the top down most of the time. Also, it has power windows and mirrors, a working Factory Anti-theft Alarm System and Heated Black Leather Seats. Leather. Interior leather in excellent condition/No rips or cuts or sun damage.That's about it. Let me know if you are interested. Contact me with any questions.ps. 1999 VW Cabrio GLS, for sale. $2,000, "tornado red". In good running condition. 2-door, 5-speed manual transmission. Complete service records, including original sticker. Purchased for $2,500 in 2017 from an old car aficionado/ professional mechanic. Replaced rusty windshield surround (at Ross-Beakes) for $1,647. Leather, heated seats. Roll bar, 14" alloy wheels, dual front and side impact airbags. This car is much fun to drive, but a new job involves a long commute.Some rust (see photos). Car alarm and cruise control don't work. Great heating and AC. The radio turns off unexpectedly every hour or two but turns back on seamlessly. In heavy rain, roof leaks near driver's window intermittently. Power roof. Driver's seat is difficult to engage lock into position (once locked, is secure).
