Back to the Past in this 1992 VW Cabriolet MK1 !!! Super original unmolested VW Cabriolet in a condition you just don't find them any longer... California Car all it's Life, Clean Carfax and Autocheck. All Bodypanels are original and the car was never hit... and is... completely rust free !!! This little Cabriolet fires right up, runs and drives without any issues. I just had it out yesterday (9/15/2018) on a 40 Mile Road trip on Highway 2 and Tujunga Canyon to shoot the pictures... It is a blast to drive and can be driven anywhere. The Transmission is a 5 Speed Stick (Yes, it's a stick... You for sure want no Auto on a Rabbit Cabriolet) that shifts perfectly through all 5 Gears. Clutch is perfect, Brakes are perfect... Car just turned 128kmiles yesterday... This Mark one Cabriolet is as good as it gets, but it is not a Museum Car... So some things that i want to mention... I'm pretty sure the car was delivered with light colored cloth interior and an off white Cabriolet top. At one point in the past the interior was most likely changed / reupholstered to the Black Interior you see...The convertible top is vinyl and might even be the original one. it shows it's age and is patched on top of the rear window. It has no major tears, keeps the rain outside (Talking about Car wash, since it not really rains here LOL) and opens and closes fine. It was dyed at one point from an off white color to the black style you see... It opens and closes without any issues. The Headliner is off white and in very good shape. I was planning to change the top into a black cloth cover, but decided to sell it like it is with my discounted starting price, so the next owner can decide what color and material he or she goes...Car has chromed American Racing Wheels that look really cool with the car. I do not have the factory wheels. The Tires are older and show some cracking, so a replacement would be recommended.I do have the books for the car, but no Maintenance history, so i do not know the last time when the timing belt was changedThe Paint shows really good with no major Dents, Dings or Scratches. You'll find some Paint chipping on front and rear bumper (very good to see in the pictures) and some stone chips. Other than that you will get a more than decent little European Convertible in a condition you haven't seen in years !!! Usually these Cabriolets were really used and abused. 1991 VW Cabriolet MK1 Karmann edition. 68k miles. Cold ac. Daily driven by wife for five years. Have a family now and it's been sitting in garage. Runs and drives great, can be daily driven. Original everything, only modification was a radio. The car has original paint and it was daily driven so it is not 10/10, but it still has plenty of shine left. There is no corrosion on the car as well, it is very solid. Aside from some minor bubbling under the windshield that the previous owner fixed and has not spruced up again and two pin sized holes on the top that were sealed(by a professional interior shop, said to last minimum 5 year) with a special clear the car is otherwise mint. It is not a show car but for the age it makes a great daily driver. Car has all the service records since new even the window sticker! Factory mats and also the cover for the roof(pictured). It is a neat car and was great to my wife. It kills her to see it go but its been sitting for months in our garage and I am looking to remodel the utility room and garage, would much rather see it go to someone who will enjoy it rather than park it outside. Selling this hard to find Nugget Yellow 1991 Volkswagen Cabriolet with a clean CARFAX and 116,200 miles. This car was purchased from an older couple that purchased it from their neighbors. The car has a very nice new 2-stage paint job in it’s original color and it also has a new top and windshield. The wheels are newly refurbished “snowflakes” and the tires are also brand new. The interior is in good overall condition with no major tears or worn spots. The headliner is clean and has one very small tear. The carpeting is in excellent shape. Mechanically the the car runs, shifts and drives excellent. The transmission was replaced with a VW mechanic rebuilt unit - due to a bad syncro. The clutch and flywheel were also replaced and all of the shifter bushings are new. The front hub bearings were both replaced and the brakes and rotors were recently replaced. The timing belt had been recently done and new plugs were installed. The a/c had been converted to 134a, was charged and blew cold. All the gauges work as they should and a new radio and antenna were installed. Like all of the vehicles I sell - this is not a PROJECT and I try to accurately represent their condition.
