I have a 1996 Volvo 850R for sale. It is a Volvo sport variant of the 850. This was a real beast in it's day with a high pressure turbo, rear wheel steering, and Porsche engineered engine, suspension and electronics. It has traction control with sport, economy, and winter modes and features the first ever side impact airbags. This is rapidly becoming a sought after collector car for Volvo enthusiasts because of its high performance features, Porsche engineering work, and ahead of it's time features. Also has heated seats, heated mirrors, leather/alcantara (fancy suede) seats, sunroof, CD/Casette player and many more features.This car has some mods from IPD, the leader in Volvo tuning and performance. I don't have all of the history but I know it has performance shocks, upgraded brakes.It comes with a spare turbo, spare throttle body, and spare set of injectors (nothing wrong with any of the originals- I was hoping to restore this so I collected some spares).The bad- It does not run currently. I bought this and was having a mechanic from a Volvo shop work on it in his spare time to restore it. The cams were removed, cleaned and reinstalled with new lifters.The timing belt was removed for replacement and new one was never installed (I have the whole new kit). The cams need to be set on their timing marks. Volvo designed this engine so that with the crank at TDC there is clearance between the pistons and the valves so the cams can be rotated without doing any damage to valves while the crack is still at TDC. There is no head or valve damage to repair, it just needs the timing belt put on. I had wanted to restore this but I have too many projects and don't have time. My mechanic had some life issues and cannot continue working on it for me so I have decided to sell it. It will need to be towed due to the fact that the timing belt is off. It has a rebuilt title because of some front end damage that was repaired and does not cause any issues. Please come inspect the vehicle before bidding. It has a good a engine and interior but will need paint. For someone looking to restore an 850R it would be perfect. It's a great ride that I just don't have time to work on.
