1990 Buick Reatta runs strong needs restoration. Rare hand-built convertible in good restorable condition. This Reatta has 123k miles. The car drives good, the 3800 engine runs strong and the transmission shifts good. I bought it to restore for the spring, but need to sell. It would make an excellent winter project. I will list the good points and work I know it needs done. Most of the work is minor or cosmetic. I have been driving the car regularly The good: The engine starts right up, no noise or smoke. The transmission shifts good with no issues. The car gives a decent ride, no major issues ( rotors pulsing some) The body looks straight and solid 99% rustfree, very minimal surface rust underneath, no holes or cancer. The interior is in good shape for its age, the leather seats look nice with no damage. The power windows, locks , mirrors work Dash instruments work ( I think cluster was improved over earlier models) Starter, alternator, lights working The bad: The car had a rebuilt salvage title issued in 2001 in California. The car looks straight with no signs of any frame damage or repair, so not sure why. The car has been driven 100k since. The car needs a convertible top. The car needs tires. They hold air, but down to the cords. Minor stuff: The headlights stay up. They work and can be wound down manually. The AC service light is on, may need AC charge.Check engine light and abs light on intermittently. Recommend brakes gone over, rotors rusty. Overall a good running Reatta I would not hesitate to drive with new tires and minor maintenance. These cars are appreciating in value with restored examples going for 10-15k. This one is sold with no reserve. All vehicles are sold as is. I allow inspection before and after the sale. If you are not satisfied with the car for any reason you do not have to complete the sale. You are bidding on a very nice, very low mileage 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible in a very desirable red color. The Reatta convertible, made only in 1990 and 1991 is becoming quite collectible. Only 2,437 convertibles were ever made. Consider those cars that have been wrecked or crushed, there are very few remaining - this is a money making collectible, yet very affordable. The convertible is far more attractive than the coupe version, of course, with the top down she is very sharp indeed. There is a rigid tonneau cover that covers the top when it is retracted. Very smooth. Her actual mileage is 47,320. She runs perfectly, shifts perfectly and tracks down the road perfectly. A real pleasure to own and drive. The convertible top is in very nice condition, not new, but nice. Of course, it is a manual top with the switch to open it directly behind the driver's seat in the storage bin. There are two of these bins, one behind each seat. They also lock. Strictly a two seater there is no capacity for only two. There is also a pass through between the two storage compartments. It allows access to the trunk or can accommodate a pair of skis or golf clubs. Stereo works perfectly - with a CD player. Interior is one of the best I've seen. She has the optional lumbar seats, a rare option. The seats are in perfect condition. The electronic dash is in perfect working condition - as you can see by the pictures. A/C blows cold, heat works well, power options all work. I fixed the headlights with new metal gears (the factory used plastic gears that broke), as they ALL fail if this upgrade isn't completed. They now extend and retract flawlessly and should last for the life of the car. The rear taillight, which spans the entire length of the trunk, works fine and I think all of the lights work (but I'll make sure that they do before the winning bidder receives the car). Tires are in great shape, the rims are better than average but not new. The alignment is great - there is no rust. Reatta's drive quite well and float down the road, while not a sports-car, it could be described as a grand touring car. She handles fine, brakes well and she downshifts quite well, The transmission is very smooth and shifts perfectly. The wipers, windows, PS, PB, ABS, Cruise, etc all work fine. Stereo sounds great too. If you know Reatta's you know they all need paint work. The factory paint fades on all of them. as this was a southern car, it faded a bit. You can certainly drive it like this - the side of the car are great, as you can see (dent free) just the hood and trunk need a respray or a good compound, I haven't tried that yet. The trunk is in new condition - see pictures as this car was obviously well kept. The spare tire is there and the tool kit is also there - with the jack. New oil, filters and plugs also. You'll enjoy this car as it continues to escalate in value. It is truly a collectors car and one that will outpace Wall Street, in my opinion. It's been voted one of the top ten future collectible by multiple sources. Only xx were made in 1990. Also, the dash was changed in 1990. Which was a welcome change. 1990 and 1991 were the only years for the convertible and the only years to collect, again, my opinion. She also gets good miles per gallon. Nice 2 owner Buick Reatta that needs nothing. Only driven to a couple of shows in Los Angeles and is always stored in my garage. I do drive it once or twice a month just around the town.All original except for new black alloy rims and new tires. Stock rims for this model are easy to source and are not costly. Even the top is original. Drivers seat leather is creased, but not damaged. Carpets are like new. Dash has no cracks. All glass is excellent.Upgraded sound system. Again, the factory type unit is easy to source, if you are a purist like to play cassettes??Headlights motors and hardware was improved two years ago. Instrument panel was rebuilt two years ago. Many receipts for maintenance included as well as mint condition shop manual and all owners information booklets and pouch. No pen and tire gauge in owners pouch.
