1996 Buick Roadmaster Limited Buick Roadmaster Limited Wagon

1996 Buick RoadmasterVIN: 1g4br82p4tr412232Listing Date: 2019/01/02
Price: $XX,500.0Mileage: XX,305Location: Spring Lake,NJ,USA

Feast your eyes on what is very likely one of the world's finest, lowest mileage, original and unmolested 1996 Buick Roadmaster Wagons left on the planet of a total 9147 produced. Being the final year for this, the last full-size American station wagon, all were dubbed, "Collectors Editions" as the hood ornament states. This unit is Dark Cherry Metallic, one of the most desirable colors and is one of 1090 factory wood-delete cars, as the remaining 8057 had vinyl wood siding. Being partial to GM products, and having had many B-body cars and wagons in the family, when GM declared 1996 to be the final year for this type of vehicle, I placed a special order at Douglas Buick in Summit NJ. Being a car guy and gear head, I knew exactly what options would be important to the car's value later. I specified the 77U Dark Cherry color, the WB4 delete of the wood-grain, and the 793 Ruby Red leather, in Z27 Limited trim as opposed to base trim. According to the Comp-nine VIN database, only 30 were produced with these four GM RPO codes. The Corvette-derived 5.7L LT1 engine with true dual exhaust and 4L60E trans was standard issue in all these 1996 wagons. However, if you wanted to get all that power to the pavement most quickly, you were not going to be happy with the standard slug-like 2.56 rear end, so you needed to order the factory towing package to get the highest performance 2.93 gear set, and unless you enjoy excessive wheel-spin, you needed to order the G80 locking rear differential, only available once the tow pkg was ordered. Now, of the 30 units in this color and trim combo, only 21 had the 2.93 gears and G80, so this is indeed a rare car if this is how you like your final edition Roadmaster wagon to look and perform. Through owning many of these LT1 powered B-body cars, I met the best group of car guys I ever encountered on the Impala SS forum. After seeing how some of the members further improved an already great platform, I decided I too wanted to modify a wagon. Starting with a factory black WB4 wood-delete wagon I bought from the original owner, and after many other performance modifications, I installed a T56 6-speed manual and a 4.10 geared Eaton posi out back, just to have a big wagon that looks, sounds, and performs better than ever intended by GM. While economy wasn't my build objective, in this version, it actually gets the same highway gas mileage as in the stock format. It is pictured but not for sale. This Dark Cherry wagon was never used as a daily driver, it was always an additional car in the family, driven mostly by my parents, who are now in their mid-eighties and beyond being able to enjoy it or even need it any longer. I'd keep it myself if I didn't already have one I modified to suit me better. The car has always been garaged, both day and night. Around 1999, I had a perfect set of 1996 Roadmaster wheels specially polished and chrome plated and to this day, I have never seen another set, they are likely the only ones, and they are in flawless, jewel-like condition, with brake dust shields behind the front ones. These are on this wagon presently, shod with a set of Good Year Eagle GA 235/70/15 rubber that also appear new. Should a buyer prefer wheels in the original aluminum finish, I have an original, new set that may be substituted. Since a factory rear sway-bar was never available on the wagon, I added a bolt-on beefy Hotchkis unit. The car has a dealer installed CD changer in the rear side compartment. Condition Report Paint - no scratches, swirl marks, bird shit stains, tree sap stains, squashed bug marks, the paint is blemish-free and there is zero fade on any exterior surfaces consistent with a car garaged both night and day. There may be a half-dozen or so tiny chips that were touched up with factory paint over the years. Body - no dings or dentsTrim - no blemishesUnder-hood - no rust, all tags and markings in placeInterior - no damage, not even one scrape on any plastic, the leather, dash, and all carpeting were covered from new until just now, revealing a mint interior, never any smoking or dogs allowed. Original cargo shade and mats mint, never stepped onUndercarriage - original stainless exhaust. Floor-pans were dealer-undercoated when new and show no signs of rust, same for the frame itself. Some minor surface rust on some untreated under-body components, consistent with some winter driving in the northeast early in the cars life. Mechanical - regularly serviced and every component in the vehicle operates exactly as it should. The G67 auto-level rear air shocks were recently replaced with new GM Delco units and the fronts with Monroe severe-service units. No check engine light on and all monitors ready. Car performs flawlessly as i just drove it nearly 100 miles at 75-80 mph and I'm a mechanic with so much experience with this particular type of car and power-train, that if it as much as farted, I would have noticed. No leaks visible from underneath and no drippings on the garage floor. While I am a licensed NJ used car dealer, I am selling this car, as well as a sedan in similar condition, as a private individual, because I ordered this car new, and my name appears on the original title, and the car fax verifies this original one-owner status. If you require a 30-day temp tag to enable you to drive it home, then I will sell the car as a dealer, your choice Also listed on the car fax is one accident in 2010 to the left rear, and the vehicle was listed as driveable. The facts of this incident were that someone backed into the left rear of the car while it was parked, and it got reported, however, the body of the car and all of its 100% original GM factory paint was undamaged. What was damaged and replaced with new was two stainless steel body moldings and the original rear bumper was refinished, since it was scraped. Application of my paint meter on each body part reveals consistent. uniform readings of depth, confirming these statements. Based on these facts and the lack of any available comparable wagon, there is no deduction in value for such a minor incident. This vehicle, and the sedan like it, can be seen only by appointment Monday-Friday, but not on Wednesdays. My cell is seven three two five three nine four zero four zero and you may call me seven days from 8am - 8pm EST. I would rather not have to respond to texts and emails from buyers within the US, so if that's where you are, then pick up the phone and call me if you are a buyer, any unanswered calls will be returned same day. If you are outside the US, then I will be happy to entertain emails from you if you first reveal your location. Foreign buyers are welcome, as I have had positive experiences selling cars to buyers in Europe, the Middle East, and even Australia. While I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements, I will not be responsible for any shipping costs or any damage not listed on the shipping manifest. If vehicle is paid in full, indoor storage is available free of charge for a reasonable period. The pricing on this car signals both its quality as well as its scarcity, and has been designed to entice those who can both appreciate and afford the best available. Feel free to call and discuss if you can foresee yourself owning this unique car that is being offered for sale by the original owner, for the first time since I special ordered it new.
