The Cadillac Brougham was released 1987 as a model all to itself to where as on previous models it was a package that could be added on. Initially the Brougham was a horse drawn carriage intended for 2-4 people but Cadillac actually used the name to designate an enclosed 5-7 passenger sedan body style in 1916 but would see a long term hiatus of 1955 the name... plate after 1937. Reappearing in 1955 as a straight up show car the 4 door variant would be released in 1957 to a warm response from critics and the public alike. The 87 was no exception with the public enjoying the last rear wheel drive offering from Cadillac with the now Fleetwood being a completely different automobile. The Brougham would be a front engine rear drive one of a kind luxury mobile that would be used as a platform for many coach builders to make stretch limos. The engine in this 90 is the 350 CID which is one of GM’s best power plants ever. Extremely torquey and as reliable as they come this was the best engine to be put in these cars. Of course when pushing around a little over 2 tons, torque is a great friend to have. With the car designed for long trips the right transmission was an absolute must. Still to this day a very desirable transmission the 700R4 was the perfect choice, an overdrive 4 speed with smooth shifts yet strong enough to handle the added stress of such a heavy car. Available until 1990 it makes the 90 versions the most sought after of the bunch. Brand new bumper fillers both front and rear were just installed All 4 corners have great rubber on them with the classic real Cadillac spokes only adding to the appeal. Add to the mix a chrome grill that rivals some of the greats from the early 30's it definitely demands attention. With both rear and front bumpers as shiny as they come this Brougham is one of the cleanest examples you will find. Open the door and the leather, yes that’s right, leather interior is in very clean condition with everything except the driver seat looking as if it was never even sit in. The light grey is very attractive and looks very nice against the wood trim accents. With these still considered one of the best riding vehicles to ever be made the 80's era Cadillac's are seeing a surge in popularity and after riding in this one it's easy to see why. 1992 Cadillac Brougham with only 71k miles. Black, with black top, and red leather interior. This has the GM305 / 5.0 liter V8 which has been yielding solidly over 20mpg on the last three tanks of gas. Super clean excellent condition quality. The only flaws are some marks that were touched up on the driver side rear back in 1999 and the hood was repainted after someone backed into it a couple years ago. No rot or rust showing. Underside is also excellent condition (more pics to follow). Always garaged in winter and rarely seen rain. The original vinyl top is perfect. This was the last year of the big body chrome bumper Brougham Cadillacs. It drives nicer than our new car. It gets compliments on a regular basis. All options work including the power radio antenna. Radio and cassette work perfect and A/C blows ice cold. I changed the heater core this year and had Eibach lowering springs installed, as well as professionally tinted windows....otherwise it's all stock. The new springs lowered it about 2". The car could easily be put back to factory ride height since it was just a spring swap. The factory rear springs willbe included in this sale. I also had new sway bar links and wheel well brake lines as well as some of the major chassis brake lines were changed just last month. Front brakes are also fresh. Ready for a road trip. The inside of the trunk looks brand new. No rips or significant wear anywhere in the interior except the headliner is starting to show its age by some minor sagging. I'm only selling it as I want to make room in the garage for an STS-v or a CTS-v sedan. I don't like parking anything outside of the garage, so this has to go to make room for a new one. Not everyday you come across something that is truly "grandma" garage kept, but this Cadillac is! The original 5.7 L V8 is still running strong and without leaks or issues. The automatic transmission is also issue and leak free. The paint is the original white with white vinyl top. The vinyl top looks brand new and doesn't show any signs of age; No staining with one very small rip, it's almost perfect. The pin stripping is still clean and beautiful.Paint overall is in good to great shape with only minor blemishes. All the badging is in great shape, including the gold grill badge. The spoked hub caps are all in excellent condition sporting the iconic Cadillac logo. The deep red interior is in unbelievable shape. There is not one sign of wear. The doors panels have the beautiful wood detail that is carried through out the dash. The seats are absolutely comfortable, expected for this luxury vehicle. This Cadillac screams comfort and luxury. There are two issue areas to note; the a/c does work and blows cold but the switches are intermittent and the radio is not working. Don't let this ready to drive home classic Cadillac pass you by!
