2008 CADILLAC STS runs and drives good ,121368 miles, sun roof

2005 Cadillac STS with a 3.6 litre DOHC V-6 Engine This 2005 Cadillac STS on the was purchased in December, 2015 from a Sacramento dealer for $10,000. The mileage at the time of purchase was 91,106 miles. The vehicle was washed, waxed, & polished every second weekend since its purchase in 2015. In the following 14 months over $9,000 was spent to service, maintain and upgrade the vehicle... & yes... I do have the receipts to prove it. (And you're right! That's an insane amount of money to pay in maintenance costs), But hey... it was dealer maintained & it's an absolutely gorgeous 2005 Cadillac STS! Service and Maintenance Records - Or - (What they did for all that green): June/2016: (94,945 Miles):> replaced & reprogrammed ECM.> replaced rear brake pads & resurfaced rotors>replaced driver's side rear light assembly with new unit. $1750. Nov/2017: (103,015): > replaced oil pan drain plug & drain plug gasket $105.Jan/2018: (103,179): > installed front & Rear super premium Cadillac brake pads.> installed new front & rear premium Cadillac brake rotors.> flushed old brake fluid & installed new brake fluid. $1435April/2018: (108,003):> installed new air filter & plenum gasket.> four new O2 sensors installed - two upstream; two downstream.> installed two Ca legal OEM Cadillac catalytic converters. (Ouch!) $5,282.June/2018: (111,614):> oil change: (5W-30 full synthetic) & oil filter, lube service (synthetic).> full vehicle inspection: needed tire rotation only! $85.August/2018: (112,600):> replaced right rear tail light assembly with new unit. $252.December/2018: (121,063):> spare driver's door key purchased from Cadillac dealership. $159.January 07/2019: (121,063):> battery cell failure. New heavy-duty battery installed under warranty (18 months on 60 month battery warranty)> vehicle engine cranks, but will not start. Kuni Cadillac no-start diagnosis: - Compression Test: Zero (0) compression on both banks. Likely damaged timing chains. Suggested that good used low-mileage engine be installed to solve problem. Inspection cost: $339. January18/2019: (121,063) > Certificate of Non-op issued by DMV: $21.00 A Good Deed Gone Bad: In June, 2018 the Cadillac was loaned to a young friend who was in desperate need of a reliable set of wheels. He loved driving the car and he even washed and waxed it about every two weeks. He was nice fellow. He dressed well and he could navigate his way across the internet with his eyes closed and one hand tied behind his back. He was well educated, street smart and could handle himself well in most situations. He seemed like a well-rounded guy, yet he had one glaring flaw. His kryptonite turned out to be an unbelievable lack of knowledge and common sense when it came to anything automotive. Given what transpired, I doubt that he has even a single mechanical gene anywhere in his body! When the car was loaned to him it was in excellent mechanical condition. He drove the car for close to 5 months, put over $10,000 miles on the engine, never changed the oil nor had the car serviced and managed to break a timing chain, which caused the valves and pistons to collide with each other, leaving Zero (0) compression in all six cylinders and effectively destroying a perfectly good, low-mileage, DOHC V-6 Cadillac engine. But to give credit where credit is due, to accomplishment of such a difficult task in just five short months requires an abundance of talent, a minimum of thought and not a shred of automotive common sense. Turns out - he was, indeed, the right man for the job! The Up-Side: Unlike the 2005 V-8 Cadillac STS engine, the 3.6 Liter DOHC V-6 is a damn good engine. It's efficient, durable and quite reliable. It took a bit of searching but I managed to locate a low mileage (~ 80K) replacement engine at a Cadillac auto dismantling facility in southern California, close to Los Angeles - AND - it can be purchased for $1250 - plus shipping (if you need to have it shipped). This Luxury Four-Door Coupe: I'm posting my 2005 Cadillac STS on eBay in the hope that my ad will come to the attention of someone who loves its style and lines, and who has the experience, knowledge and skill to install a replacement V-6 engine - or - perhaps someone who knows of someone who could undertake on their behalf, an engine replacement - at a reasonable cost. This sporty Cadillac would make a wonderful second family car for someone's wife or husband - &/or- a very safe and stylish ride for a collage-age son or daughter. It would be a real tragedy to have this gorgeous coupe end up in a Cadillac auto dismantler yard. So... please think about it, and let me know. If you live in northern California including Sacramento & the Bay Area and have AAA 200 mile towing, you're in luck because the Cadillac has current registration which is required for AAA to authorize any tow . If no AAA, and/or you need to have the car towed beyond 200 miles from Sacramento, I have a dual axle and very reliable single-vehicle car carrier and a Ford 350 Turbo-Diesel truck, so I could tow the car for you if you wish. If you need to have the car to be towed out-of-state, I will consider that possibility as well. I ask only that my diesel fuel, bridge tolls and basic expenses be covered.

Vehicle was never driven during winter months as always put in storage
