2008 Chevrolet Uplander cargo van, converted to a wheelchair accessible Braun Intervan with the conversion done by BraunAbility, one of the leading manufacturers of wheelchair accessible vans. The van is powered by a 3.9 liter (238 cubic inches) V6 flex fuel engine. The van will run on either unleaded regular or E85 fuel. The automatic transmission was replaced in August of 2015, at 143,200 miles, with a transmission remanufactured by Jasper Engines & Transmissions, and installed by George's Automotive in Benson, Arizona. Actual miles on the odometer are 157,588 as of October 24, 2018 During the conversion the van is lowered 10 inches. This van has a manual operated wheelchair ramp that extends out the open right side sliding door. On this van the left and right side sliding doors are manually operated. The space behind the front seats, where second row seats would normally be mounted, the second row seats have been removed to give an open space where two power chairs or manual push wheel chairs can be tied down securely using special tie downs. 4 tie downs are included with the van. Behind that open space Braun installed a bench seat I would describe for short trips or possibly children. The bench seat is quite firm and not comfortable for longer trips. In the front is the drivers seat and the front passenger seat. The front passenger seat can be removed quite easily from the van if extra space is more important than a passenger seat...... no bolts to remove and no tools needed... just pull a strap to release the seat catch and will re-install just as easily. This Chevy Uplander was purchased new by a company who transported people in wheelchairs. We are the second owners, purchased the van in March of 2014 to transport my wife in her powerchair. About one year ago she purchased a larger powerchair. It is the style with power legs, power tilt and recline. This powerchair is physically larger than her other powerchair, so loading her new larger powerchair into the Chevy, space is marginal. We found this van to be a little too small for her larger powerchair, so we bought a larger vehicle that better fits her larger powerchair. For this reason, if you have one of those larger powerchairs, I would not recommend this Chevy Uplander for you. You could squeeze it in but quite tight. A regular powerchair fits quite nicely. The last photo is of the larger type power chair. The powerchair is NOT included in the deal. It is for illustration purposes only. If you have this largertype of power chair I would not recommend this van for it. In the photo of the power chairthe leg rests are extended but even when the legs lowered this chair is a very tight fit in the van The 4 tires were replaced in April of 2017 and now have just under 5000 miles on them. The Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors were replaced and calibrated on all 4 tires in August 2018 at 157,250 miles. The left front wheel hub & bearing assembly, including the ABS speed sensor and sensor wiring harness was replaced in September 2018 at 157,410 miles. The van is equipped with typical options....air conditioning, am/fm radio with single disc CD player, power door locks with remote key fob, power front door windows, ABS brakes, traction control, stability control. Again, the wheelchair ramp is a manual operated ramp and the left and right side sliding doors are manually operated clear clean title in hand, in owners name
