Why I'm selling: So I thought I'd be keeping this van for many years, just tinted the windows, put in synthetic oil/filter and it had a large amount of preventative maintenance done (see below). I'm now moving to a housing complex with strict HOA and they won't allow vehicles on-street overnight, and won't fit in the new garage. Rather then rebuild garage I'm selling and getting a smaller VW van. The motor (under warranty through 11/19) is a remanufactured starting with 0 original miles. Install cost approximately $10,000 and it has a custom tune through Green Diesel Engineering, which increases the overall fuel mileage. You'll get the tuner with the van if you want to make it stock again but not sure why you'd do that. With included AT tires, fully loaded, it'll get <22-25 mpg. Motor has around 12k highway miles. Turbo works great. Transmission in good shape. Non-Mision critical items you may want to fix: ● The body is solid but has some rust. I have shop verification stating the rust is cosmetic, not structural. The step-in areas on both driver and passenger sides will need to be cut out and replaced if you decide to fix it ● The controller screen for the rear heater and block heater needs replacing. AC runs and works separately ● There is a visible wear mark on the driver side rubber floor from foot while driving ● The passenger side vents have the louvers broken out ● Dent in the upper rear body of the van from backing into low hanging building ● The front window has a crack in the lower right-hand side as of last week Great bits: Preventative parts for motor include: ● Just put in full Synthetic oil replaced filter and serviced motor ● Turbo hoses upper and lower ● Belts ● Both idler pulleys ● Tensioner pulley ● Harmonic Balancer ● Starter ● Main Battery ● Fuel Filter ● Air Filter ● Cabin Filter Preventative parts for transmission: ● Changed Fluid and filter ● Replaced Transmission Pan ● Replaced Transmission Conductor Plate- This has your speed sensor, controls, and valve bodies Preventative parts for Steering and Suspension ● Purchased replacement bushings as per shop recommendation ● Tie rod ends ● Shocks front and back ● Front-wheel bearings ● Rear-wheel bearings I have but never install as it was just preventative. They have about 30k miles on them now. ● New Calipers in the front ● Also replaced the brake light circuit boards since they looked like they were getting close to needing it Interior build: ● Insulated with two layers of reflectix ● Flooring is locking composite with reflectix and underlayment underneath ● Plywood ceiling ● 8 Leds light separated into two zones- living area with under cabinet lights and sleeping area ● Maxair MaxFan Deluxe ● Sink with electric pump and on off switch. ● 6 gallon fresh water and 6 gallon waste water collection ● Fridge is electric and propane-powered (for extended trips) ● 30a Charger controller with solenoid to separate from van battery when the key is off ● Bus Fuse box with half of the slots still open ● Curtains with reflectix inside ● 2 Mighty Max SLA AGM sealed solar batteries. 12v 100ah ● Aftermarket stereo- This is old. It does the job but if I kept it I would upgrade. ● Alpine TypeS speakers front and rear ● Inside the garage are 4 shelves for tote storage and holds two bikes in the center with seats removed. The bed platform lifts up for easy access. ● The sleeping area and kitchen area are both cabinet grade 3⁄4 plywood and custom built. The bed has a dresser style storage on the top half and a storage area underneath. The sleeping platform holds a queen size bed easily or you could get a kingsize and cut it down a bit. Everything in the van excluding the mattress get closed inside a cabinet or strapped down for safety. No open platform with everything jumbling around. ● Van has an accessory A/C and heater in the back, Websato. AC will make your head hurt when it is on high. Title information: ● Clean title in hand. ●There’s a report the van had been salvaged but this is not correct and have a letter from Geico, the company that made the report, as well as the paperwork that van has been since repaired and not salvaged. The van wasn't ever in an accident. ●A new harmonic balancer installed at Quirk Motors in Bangor Maine. They did the install incorrectly. After a few hundred miles, the balancer came off of the motor at highway speed and ruined the motor. Travelers agreed to purchase and install a remanufactured motor, with zero miles, from Jaspar Engines. When Geico looked at the motor they said they could not source one and would be totaling out the van but the offer was declined so it would not be salvage and maintain a clean Illinois title. ●Geico says it's still a clean title and as of 6/5, Geico submitted a request to Carfax to remove the incorrect report which said the van was a loss or that money was received from Geico to fix any accident. I have emails from Geico, and copies of all paperwork from Geico and Travelers insurance to verify. ●In a nutshell, there may be salvage mark on some 3rd party reports such as Carfax, which will eventually come off, in trade for new motor with under warranty. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer's request prior to the close of sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Notice to Bidders We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end an auction early should the vehicle no longer be available for sale.
