How do I know this? Well, not only does it pack an 8.0-liter V8, some deranged individual decided to install a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger to feed it. The result? More power than two tires should be asked to handle. Before we get to the engine upgrades, however, let's...take a look at this beautiful Viper. There's nothing else on the road with the presence of the Viper and everyone knows what it is. Sure, the coupe is a bit more practical, but if you're serious about speed, this nasty black convertible is a great way to do it. Obviously reminiscent of the vintage Cobras, it puts aggression in a whole new category. And like so many of its siblings, this one has seen only fair-weather usage and exemplary care, so it's in outstanding condition throughout with the low-hanging front bumper having been repainted recently. That vented hood with intake scoop and heat extractors provides a little added excitement, but with the Viper's already outrageous looks, it's only one piece of the puzzle. It's got a few very minor signs of use (who could resist putting this car through its paces?) but it's obvious that this car has been someone's special toy and there aren't many other cars that can generate this much eyeball appeal on the road. And that's before you lean on the throttle! The redesigned Viper's interior got a much-needed makeover that transformed it from "uncomfortable as hell but at least its fast" to a world-class performance machine. Body-hugging bucket seats with built-in provisions for shoulder harnesses, plenty of real sound-deadening materials, and a full package of comfort and convenience features mean that Dodge's Snake is no longer a primitive beast. Those features include ice cold A/C, power windows and locks, a tilt steering wheel, leather upholstery, and an attractive center stack with a full array of white-faced instruments. This one also benefits from an AM/FM/CD stereo, the sounds of which can almost compete with the thundering stereo from the side pipes. There's also a reasonable trunk and a snug-fitting black canvas convertible top. The only notable modification is the Auto Meter boost gauge atop the steering column, and it's awesome to watch it twitch in time with your right foot. The 8.0-liter V10 was already making 505 horsepower, which many folks consider plenty. However, this one is a case where too much is just enough and a glance under the massive hood reveals a neatly detailed engine compartment with a polished aluminum Paxton blower nestled up front in the nose. The installation was professionally done and includes commensurate fuel system upgrades and a computer tune, so it starts, idles, and runs like a factory-issued piece, albeit one with about 50% more horsepower. The big red valve covers and twin-plenum intake still look imposing and if you didn't know better, you'd figure that the blower must be OEM, too, simply because of how well it fits. The heavy-duty 6-speed manual gearbox doesn't even blink at the massive torque churning through it and the exhaust system gives it a magnificent exhaust note that has to be heard to be believed. The suspension is still ready for the track, the brakes are the size of trash can lids and use bright red calipers, and forged wheels from a later Viper carry staggered 275/35/18 front and 345/30/19 rear Michelin performance radials. This is one of those cases where even a Viper might be considered a sleeper. It's also rare (#87 out of 200 Mambas built) and surprisingly affordable. Call today! 2004 dodge viper great car I have owned it for about 2 years never had an issue with it. Tires still have tread. just had an alignment and oil change. This car got an oil change every 2000 miles with full synthetic mobil 1 oil. Ac blows cold. The convertible top is in perfect shape. The car has a few minor paint imperfections here and there. There is a scrape in the bottom right corner of the bumper. this car also has a rebuilt title due to an accident involving a deer that hit the window frame and dented it. The window frame completely unbolts with 4 bolts per side. I was there when they replaced it and there was absolutely no damage to anywhere but the window frame. With a heavy heart, I am listing for sale my childhood dream car. I bought this vehicle in March of 2014 from a gentleman who owned the car since 1998 (he was the 2nd owner, first owner only owned about a year). The car spent all of its life in Southern California prior to my ownership in Arizona. The vehicle was all factory, down to the air filters when I bought it with 21k miles on it. I searched for months to find the PERFECT blue/white Viper GTS to build from the ground up, and will never forget the day I bought the car and drove it home. This is clean title, no accident, 3 owner Blue/White Viper GTS. A No-Story Car. I had absolutely no intentions of ever selling this car, but being an avid enthusiast, I get bored with projects when they are 100% complete and this car is now 110% complete. I set out to build the ultimate Gen2 GTS and feel confident to say that I succeeded in that build with this car. The car is an absolute animal, and without a doubt the most responsive/fun vehicle I have ever owned/driven. With all of the power and the 3.55 gears that were installed, the car has endless amounts of torque at any RPM and any gear, no matter the speed. Touch the gas pedal and you are instantly rewarded with gut-punching thrust and symphony-like tunes spewing out of the exhaust. I have spent years perfecting every component of the vehicle I thought was underwhelming from the factory (brakes/suspension/engine/etc), and the combination of parts I've gathered work tremendously together. Every single gear pulls like a freight train, this Viper isn't for the faint of heart. The Viper underwent a full engine re-build (forged internals, cam, higher compression, etc) summer of 2017 at AC Performance in Murrieta, CA. I had the car shipped to/from the best Viper builder in the country as that was the only shop I trusted with my Viper. It was the Cobra Daytona coupe reincarnated, but this time with 8-liters of fury under the hood and a suspension that could actually dance. Even today, this 1997 Dodge Viper GTS commands more respect on the street than just about anything else ever built. Viper fans are particular about their cars. Yes, they use them to their potential, but they are also fanatical about maintenance and the cars are seldom used as daily drivers. With just 16,595 original miles, this 1997 GTS looks almost new in every respect, showing off a brilliant Viper Red paint job that could easily compete with a Ferrari on the eyeball magnet scale. Of note, it isn't wearing the usual stripe package, which were a no-cost delete, and despite the festive color, this one looks downright brutal because of it. It's also one of just seven Vipers delivered in bright red with gold powdercoated wheels and matching gold emblems, so it's a fairly rare piece in a world of number collectors. Hand built by Chrysler employees specially chosen for the job, it exhibits better-than-average build quality throughout, and seeing one of these on the street is still an event. Nobody (and I mean nobody!) tangles with one of these at the stop light grand prix. The GTS benefitted big time from a more civilized interior that included actual roll-up windows and an effective stereo system. Note that I didn't say it WAS civilized, just more civilized than the R/T, and that's a big part of the Viper's charm. You need to manhandle this car, show it who's boss, and it isn't for the faint of heart. Fortunately, the hardware is up to the challenge, with grippy black leather buckets that are in excellent shape, a dash full of white-faced gauges, and a stubby 6-speed shifter that you can punch through the gears without fear of breaking anything. An AM/FM/CD stereo provides entertainment while you're waiting for your next track session, and the fat leather-wrapped wheel transmits signals directly to your hypothalamus. There's a bit of storage under the rear hatch, but if you're worried about carrying capacity in your Viper, perhaps you're shopping at the wrong store. The 8.0-liter V10 got a horsepower boost in the GTS that ensured that the baddest snake on the street remained that way. There are thousands of upgrades available, but this one remains almost completely stock save for a K&N air filter up front (the original filter is included with the car). Even stock, it brings 450 horsepower and 490 pounds of torque, so it's certainly no slouch on the street. There's no mistaking the bright red intake and valve covers, and this one shows off the efforts of a very conscientious owner who kept it immaculate under the hood. Most of the original equipment is intact, and it hasn't been raced or abused, although we'll admit that it's impossible to keep your foot out of the throttle. The all-independent suspension works well on the street or the track, and those gold wheels are wrapped in giant 275/40/17 front and 335/40/17 rear Michelin Pilot tires that stick like flypaper. The stories are true and these cars remain the last untamed performance machines. Complete with all the original books and manuals, this rare Gold Package Viper is also a car that will likely have some financial upside in the future. Call today!
