Thank you for checking out my auction - please take the time to read the full description below and carefully examine the high resolution pictures. I try to describe the positives & negatives of this vehicle accurately in this description. Check out this 2003 Ford Windstar Van that is equipped with a manual folding wheel chair ramp. This vehicle was previously owned by a transportation company -- after purchasing this vehicle I have driven it about 100 miles since. This van is equipped with options like power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, alloy wheels, and front/rear climate control. Mechanically, this Windstar needs some attention. The engine runs smooth and is strong, but after it warms up there is a very noticeable tapping noise...sounds like possibly a lifter or valve (sounds like a top end noise). When it is cold and first started, the engine is quiet. When you rev the engine up, the noise almost goes away. At idle, its very noticeable after the engine is fully warmed up. I haven't tried any sort of oil treatments or anything of that nature to hide the noise. There is a YouTube video below that you can hear it clearly. The engine runs strong and there is no lack of power. The transmission shifts good and goes through all the gears. This van has been sitting for some time, although it does fire right up. The brakes stop the van straight and well, a little pulsation and noise from the rear brakes that I think is mainly due to sitting. This van is equipped with factory cruise control and it works like it should. While driving the suspension components appears to be in overall good shape except the rear shocks, it will definitely need rear shocks it is very bumpy in the rear. The steering appears to be in good working condition and the van drives straight. Exhaust is good and quiet, maybe a tiny bit louder than a standard Windstar...but this is usually the case due to the custom exhaust to accommodate the vans with the wheel chair ramps. I have not noticed any leaks on the ground where this Windstar has been sitting. While driving, the transmission shifts smooth and goes into all gears. There is a slight vibration above 40 MPH that gets more noticeable as you approach highway speeds, it feels like one of the rear tires is out of balance or flat-spotted. Pretty typical stuff for a van this age. The front two tires are 225/60/16 Kelly tires with some decent tread remaining. The rear tires are 215/65/16 and are mismatched brands, the driver's rear tire is rather worn while the passenger rear is nearly new tread. All of the tires, especially the left rear, may have a little weather cracking. The climate control works and this Windstar blows air wherever you want it to (vents, defroster, etc - front and rear), and all power settings. The heat appears to be working but the A/C is not operational (I haven't tried to charge it). This Windstar is equipped with a factory AM/FM/CD/Cassette audio system - I was unable to get it to power on. There is also a rear entertainment system that I was also unable to power on - perhaps there is a fuse that controls both the radio and TV but I haven't checked into it. I have not been able to get the hood to fully latch, but it is closed and does not fly open. There have been no warning lights illuminated during my ownership. All of the gauges read properly and there are no abnormal readings. The front power windows work just fine, although only the passenger rear power venting window works. The power locks work, but some doors do not lock and unlock with the power function. Overall, please read the above description...if you live nearby you should be able to drive it home but I do not know what that ticking noise is. Cosmetically -- this van is in good condition with no significant body damage. There is minimal rust for the year and region. The paint is overall in good condition, there is some evidence of previous rust repair in the left rear wheel well but it still looks good. There are areas where the old company's lettering is noticeable in the paint but it is hard to pick up on it in the pictures. The trim pieces are missing, I believe this van was previously vinyl wrapped. I've tried to capture the imperfections in the high resolution pictures below, please inspect them carefully. All of the doors open and close without problems, and the door panels are in good shape. The windshield is cracked but the rest of the glass is in good condition. The interior is cloth seats and carpeted floors. The seats & floors are in overall good condition and are clean.. The headliner is in clean condition. The wheel chair ramp folds out without issue and is very easy to operate. There is some corrosion on the hinges in the bottom please inspect the pictures. I have included pictures of the seat belts for the wheelchair section -- I'm really not sure what is supposed to be there or if anything is missing, so please check them out. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call or email and I will try to figure them out ASAP. Check out the pictures - they speak for themselves! I have tried to capture both the positives and the flaws in those pictures. This is a good opportunity to bid for a no-reserve wheelchair accessible van with plenty of life left. What should I expect when buying a used vehicle? This is a reminder to all bidders. These vehicles are USED vehicles and are not new. Please expect a certain amount of wear, use, and flaws as is standard on ANY used car. All used cars including this one may have dings, nicks, chips, glass marks, fading, scratches, paintwork, accident history, rust, wheel or rim imperfections, or any other issues that are associated with use that is consistent with age and mileage of the vehicle. We try to take as many photos as possible some scratches and dings may not show up very well due to color and lighting if you are unable to inspect in person we recommend a third party inspection. Obviously a car that is 10 years old will show more wear and have more flaws than one that is 2 years old. We will not be responsible if you do not some inspect in person. Since these vehicles are used, please remember that books, extra keys, remote entry keys, navigation discs, cd cartridges , etc...do not always remain with vehicles throughout their life. What about the vehicle’s history report? We often use these services to check a vehicles background. Carfax and Autocheck are wonderful services, but they have their limitations. Many times they will show more “owners” than we may state a vehicle has had. This is because they are an information service only. They have never seen the car, owned the car, and have no other information about the car than what is reported from different agencies. All of this information is originally hand entered into their databases at their source and mistakes and inconsistencies will occur! For example when a dealer such as ourselves purchases a vehicle they may pick it up as a new owner when this is of course not the case as dealers are not end users. Also they often contain mileage errors and inconsistencies that appear to make little sense. Just like any computer generated information report you need to know how to read the report & when to read between the lines. Having seen thousands of these over the years we can help you understand the information listed in these reports, just ask. Can you explain your as-is / warranty policy? Specs),Lining or pad thickness less than 1/32 inch, Power unit not operating or leaking, Structural or mechanical parts damaged. Steering System;Too much free play at steering wheel (DOT specs.),Free play in linkage more than 1/4 inch, Steering gear binds or jams, Front wheels aligned improperly (DOT specs.), Power unit belts cracked or slipping, Power unit fluid level improper. Suspension System; Ball joint seals damaged, Structural parts bent or damaged, Stabilizer bar disconnected, Spring broken, Shock absorber mounting loose, Rubber bushings damaged or missing, Radius rod damaged or missing, Shock absorber leaking or functioning improperly. Tires= Tread depth less than 2/32 inch, Sizes mismatched, Visible damage. Wheels= Visible cracks, damage or repairs, Mounting bolts loose or missing. Exhaust System= Leakage. All cars are used machines and used machines need general repairs on a regular basis many times without prior warning. This is especially true for name brand highline & exotic vehicles that have more elaborate features and systems. Also repairs are more common on say a 10 year old model car as opposed to a 2 or 3 year old model car since they cost significantly less than a newer car. Obviously the older the car the more possible this is of happening. So this is why we highly recommend again that you purchase this warranty for your own peace of mind and general satisfaction. What you have just read is basically common sense, but there are some people who don’t understand what as is means so this is why we have spelled it out in plain English. Can I purchase a long term extended warranty? Most vehicles qualify for a 2 or 3 or 4 year extended warranty plan depending on mileage and age of the vehicle. There are several different plans available for most vehicles. Some vehicles may not qualify for extended warranties. Exotic vehicles, High performance luxury vehicles, antiques vehicles, or certain high mileage vehicles may not qualify for a warranty plan. However most of the vehicles we sell on eBay will qualify for an extended warranty. No matter how comprehensive any warranty is it does not cover routine service or maintenance. Nor does any warranty cover every item on the vehicle. It is merely an insurance policy offered to offset the cost of more significant expenses. Once the auction is over we will go over these details with you if you are interested. All vehicles are sold as-is as stated above. However a select few late model cars may have the remainder of factory warranty and if this is the case that will be clearly listed in the vehicle listing. Can I see or inspect the vehicle in person? Prospective bidders are always welcome to come, view, or arrange on site inspections of the vehicle they are interested in BEFORE the close of the auction. We recommend buyer have a third party inspection if buyer is unable to inspect vehicle in person before the close of auction. Once the auction has ended the vehicle is now considered sold and we do not permit any post sales inspections at that point. Do you end auctions early? We reserve the right to end any auction early should we deem it necessary. However this is quite rare and occurs in less than 2% of all listings. Also any bid retractions within the last half of the remainder of the auction are subject to be ended early at our discretion. Venue for any legal action such as claims, motions, litigation, settlements, or any legal action associated with this sale from either the buyer or seller is to take place in the State of Pennsylvania in the Montgomery County Courthouse. By bidding on this auction the bidder / buyer agrees that any legal action will be heard in the County of Montgomery in the State of Pennsylvania. Once the vehicle is paid for in full insurance is required from the buyer. We do not insure the vehicle after payment is made in full. This is especially important if your vehicle is being transported via car carrier . How does shipping work? We do not arrange shipping for any of our vehicles. Vehicle shipping is the responsibility of the buyer of the vehicle. You are welcome to use any transporter you choose to come pick up the vehicle from our dealership. If you do not have a transporter we may be able to suggest one for you. Also you can do a web search for vehicle transporters for a greater selection. We do not take vehicles to shipping terminals or shipping ports. All vehicles must be picked up at the dealership during regular business hours Monday - Saturday. Pricing and delivery times are between you and your shipper. Average shipping time is 5 - 15 days depending on many different factors. It is recommended that exotic or high dollar vehicles be shipped enclosed (but that is a personal choice). Also vehicles such as, Limousines, Large Commercial Trucks & Large Vans, etc, may have extra costs associated with them due to size limitations or may not be able to be shipped at all. All buyers should keep the above information in mind when purchasing a vehicle. PLEASE NOTE: Approx. ½ of our cars are transported, and these cars can have no more than ¼ tank of fuel to help the weight down on the transport trucks. Because of the fact we do not know which cars will be transported & which will be picked up in person, all cars will have no more than ¼ tank of fuel at delivery. What happens after I win the auction? At the close of the auction we will contact you by email and ask for your name and phone number. At this time we will ask for your information and charge to your account the $500.00 deposit. Once this is done all we need to do is schedule a time for delivery. Vehicles titles may be held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In many cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments up to 29 days from the time we pay a vehicle off. Sometimes it may take longer. Some vehicles are traded in with out of state titles and they must go to the state to come back as a PA title as we are a PA dealership. While we usually have all titles in our possession at closing, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive. Some vehicles are purchased at auction, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive. Most vehicles advertised are new car trade ins and we are usually waiting for the titles to get processed by the title clerks or the state. Some of the vehicle titles are held are collateral until vehicle is paid for. Which means if you come and pay for a vehicle on Saturday, we will allow you to take the vehicle home, however we may not be able to pay for it until the next business day. We further reserve the right to refuse the sale of any vehicle to any bidder or buyer at our discretion should we deem it necessary. If payment is made by cashiers check, money order, or auto draft checks we will hold all titles for 10 days or until funds have cleared personal checks are not accepted. If you are planning to pick up the vehicle in person, these are the hours we are open for eBay deliveries: Monday (10:30-5), Tuesday (10:30-5), Wednesday (10:30-5), Thursday (10:30-5) and Friday (10:30-5) and Saturday (10:30-2). We are closed on Sunday, and all National Holidays. If these hours do not suit your needs, then please arrange to have your vehicle shipped. These are the ONLY hours we will be delivering vehicles. What if I can not come to your dealership to pick up my vehicle & I wish to have it shipped to me? If you are shipping your vehicle, Payment needs to be established within 3 days either by Wire transfer or mailing check. If mailing pleases overnight the check and provides us with tracking so that it does not get lost and we can process it as soon as possible. Once you have completed this simple task we will then enclose the vehicle title, temporary tags, registration, and send them back to you via UPS. At this time you can arrange shipping for your vehicle or if you have already done so you may let your shipper know that the vehicle has been paid for and is now cleared for pick up. Please try to give us (or have your transporter give us) 24 hours notice before pick up so we can have your vehicle detailed for you before it leaves our dealership.
