Here’s a neat little car with LOW miles that you don’t see every day. This one is a 2003 Honda Insight Hybrid. This is a one owner car, with no accidents on carfax, that runs and drives absolutely perfectly. This car was obviously well cared for. There’s hardly a scratch in it, and the interior still looks new as well. The tires are like new Bridegstone Potenzas, the brakes stop straight, the IMA battery is strong, and the car just plain drives brand new. There’s no excuses here. It’s only got 48k miles on it, and it honestly looks like half of that. We have driven the car about 400 miles and had zero issues. If you’re nice to these, you can get them in the upper 50’s for gas mileage. The car is actually a blast to drive – it’s got power from the moment you step on the gas. I expected it to be a slug but I was pleasantly surprised. The body is straight, all of the panels line up correctly, and the paint is as nice as the day it left Honda. The seats and carpet are in great shape with just very minor wear. The headliner is very nice other than one small spot at the “A” pillar where it looks like something rubbed it (see pics). That’s really the only spot on the car that I can pick at. It’s like a little time capsule. If you’re looking for one of these, I highly doubt you’ll find a better example. This is a great starting point to bring back a first generation Honda Insight. I bought this at a charity auction and have never tagged or driven except around the block and have no history on it.The odometer and title says it has only 92,961 miles on it but the title also says that 92,961 is NOT the actual mileage. Run a Carfax to see why maybe?It does come with 2 keys and 2 remotes but I am not sure both remotes work because I haven't tried them both. One does work. These first generation Insights will run and drive (I've had several of them) with a dead large hybrid battery but this car also has a starter issue and a rear brake line needs replacing--very weak brake pedal right now .It will start sometimes when cold but it acts like it has a dead battery a lot of the time and after it is warm, jumping it doesn't always work. I replaced a completely corroded engine ground cable but it had 3 ends/ spots it bolted down and I only replaced it with 2 spots because one of the bolts broke off when removing the bad cable and it seemed like it didn;t need 2 differend spots, on the engine but maybe it does because when I first replaced it it started right up a few times and then it went back to the way it was so maybe it needs another connection--easy to do by splicing in another new cable into what i already did and or maybe there is another bad ground cable somewhere, maybe? The battery could alsoo be bad or maybe the big battery is very dead and this is causing and extra drain of some sort? If the front battery wasn't a 2017 I would think it was bad and having it tested is next and getting a new starter after that, if it doesn't sell here on ebay first. Right now the engine turns over slowly but won't start even with a jump--may also be my cheap old jumper cables? I'll update that tomorrow 3-1-19 with new or different cbales to jump it with.. It is easy to push and will push start very easily--every time...so the no start issue is not engine related...The rear brake line that goes across the back and then up to the front has a rust spot that is leaking and the plastic removable undercarriage plastic shield needs to be removed to get at the line for sure and that shield I noticed is tied up in the front passenger side corner but not very damaged. It looks like maybe a few connections bad in the plastic--I just haven't had time to get to anything else on this car but will if I can't get what I need to get for it here, and then ask more for it next time.I feel real good about this car and wouldn't mind keeping it either...Also, these cars with the 5 speeds tend to have second gear grinding issues, with higher miles, this one didn't seem to but like I said, I only drove it around the block with bad brakes but i did try to shift fast to see if it would grind and it didn't come close to grinding. It will need a valve adjustment also maybe--there is a minor sounding (I am a mechanic) top end valve tick--commonish issue with this engine--. It has been sitting for maybe a couple of years so it could be ticking for that reason also but don't count on that.It has the special Bridgestone Pontenza tires on it all the way around and they all match and have nice tread also which tells me someone cared about this car on top of the pretty nice condition it is in overall. 2005 honda insight runs good I have all the paperwork from the previous owner of everything that has been done to the car as far as any repairs all the manuals extra Honda original oil filters a brand new key fob and extra key car runs and drives good mostly highway miles current mileage will go up 175 miles a day as this is my daily driver I purchased the car last January from a military family that moved to Delaware from California the car is originally from California up until last year I have put over 40,000 miles on it since i acquired the car and it has not given me any issues the paint is not perfect on the hood and roof it is sun faded as you will see in the pictures 12v battery recently replaced the previous owner said that the hybrid battery is from 2008 and he had it refurbished and the car received a software update as well at the time. Although the IMA battery still works it will probably have to be replaced sooner than later due to its age. I will be including a hands free Alpine head unit that has bluetooth and a wired microphone that is all installed the rearview mirror was taken out so I could have room for a dash cam but I have not been able to find the mirror and the tires are at about 20% tread and will have to be replaced soon the factory speakers have been updated to kenwood up front and pioneer in the rear I am selling car since I just purchased a civic si any questions just text 302 682 9898

Engine rebuilt at Honda dealer February 2019 (with receipt) at 102,800 miles! So the engine is basically brand new with only 1000 miles on it ready to run for many years with Honda reliability. New Honda genuine battery January 2019. Front brakes and all 4 tires have 2000 miles on them. This car was babied since new, interior is mint and exterior only has a couple small marks on it.
