I'm selling a 2001 rolling chassis Honda Insight. The hybrid battery has been removed, so it all safe for any projects. It's sold without engine and transmission. In the pictures, the interior isn't completely stripped, but it is now. It would be great for any engine swap or bud. It weighs approximately 1600 Lbs as is. It comes with Honda CRX wheels. This EX version of the 2010 Honda Insight has all the bells and whistles that Honda provided on their upgraded version. Purchased in as new condition with approx. 500 miles on odometer. This vehicle has averaged close to 45 mpg since new. Added interior appointments include Honda rubber mats, sheepskin seat covers and head rests (front seats), custom dash mat, tinted windows and Sirius XM radio. Window side vent covers and anti theft wheel locks are outside additions. Tires have 6000 miles since new. New 12 volt battery. Full maintenance records are available. Since we purchased this vehicle, it has only required routine maintenance and has been serviced only by Honda dealership technicians. We are reluctantly selling this due to the fact that this is now an extra vehicle and we need the garage space. If you are in the market for a very clean efficient hybrid vehicle, this one deserves a closer look. For purposes of pictures I have removed the dash mat and sheep skin covers. I bought this in NOvember, but have had medical issues so only drove it just 1200 miles. Love the car. Problem free. Bought it from a man in the military who really cared for car - oil change every 5k miles, tires rotated regularly. Prior owners, changed out the tires, shocks, speakers and added LED running lights. Has GT9-5260 shocks and the preferred Potenza RE92s tires. It also comes with a grid charger. It has a couple of 'sticky' buttons, none of which effects driving.The few issues are: driver's side window switch is a little sticky, but works everytime. The passenger side lock works, but is not activated by the clicker. The rear latch works manually by turning if farther to the right, then opens manually. 2000 Insight , 173k miles, 5 speed Have owned it since 2014 and have bought it with 85k miles. Car has been very reliable. Bought it from an older Gentleman in Springfield, IL. Very well maintained. This cars a/c is impressive to say the least, ice cold instantly. - doesn’t leak or burn oil. -Nice winter style rubber floor mats – -Trans fluid changed & slave cylinder replaced at 140k miles with fluid flush. -Added rear 6.5” speakers pioneers. So it has 4 speakers now. Kenwood aux/ usb headunit. -Quick drain oil valve. – Makes oil changes a breeze and don’t have to worry about stripping out the alum oil pan. New 12v battery under the hood less than 6 months old. – replaced at 165k miles. Valve Job and Spark Plug replacement with proper indexed NGK plugs. Car uses “B” Plugs. They are $25 each from Honda. Done at 150k miles. Upgraded GAB rear shocks and springs have 20 some adjustments - I put them at 7 or 8 and have just left them alone – this is #1 mod I would do to any insight. Makes it bearable to drive. Stock rear suspension stuff is awful. Go read on insight central. Shocks and springs is about a $400 upgrade if you can get them usually a long wait. Has Armrest from a 92-95 civic retrofitted. Never had a battery pack issue. Two tricks to making them last is drive the car every day and don’t live in a hot climate. I balance it every 6months for the last few years since I bought a grid charger and discharger kit. I will include the tools to maintain the battery. RE92 tires. 2 have 30k – 2 were just replaced on beginning of last year. Front brakes have 20k miles on them. 20% tinted windows all the way around. Washed frequently in the winter keep the salt off the bottom of it. Alum body so no rust. Lifetime mpg is 53. I get 57-60 in the summer and 52-55 in the winter with normal driving. Not trying to Hypermile it. Best I've ever done was 84.3mpg on a 40 mile trip. if you go the speed limit and baby it you can easily do 65-70mpg. Selling because I have too many vehicles for one person (6). Just bought a Diesel SUV. Also shortened my commute recently. Still driving it though until its gone. Bad – Passenger mirror glass wiggles around. I just throw some clear tape on it every year and it holds it fine. Could replace if you wanted to salvage yard wants $50 for a new mirror Common 2nd gear downshift grind happens over 15mph. 1st gear need to stop fully to put in 1st. majority of them do this was a factory issue but Honda never did a recall. I’ve been driving it like this since I bought it at 80k miles. Small door ding on passenger door (3/4") and scrap on rear from (1"x 2") . Both are small imperfections.
