2000 HONDA INSIGHT CITRUS RARE COLOR CITRUS SEATS AC 5 SPEED 150K MI 70 MPG!!!!!2000 Honda Insight Citrus Rare Color 5 Speed 150,9000 miles. Air Conditioner. 2 Owner car before I bought it in 2014. Records from 2005. ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER. I have owned 45 Honda Insights AT THE SAME TIME and only licensed a few for personal driving. This car was my personal car and I put over 10,000 mi on it. Runs great. No problems. Drive anywhere. 5 speed transmission works perfectly and no downshifting synchro noise. No noises at all. IMA battery appears to be strong. I have driven this over the last month and it stays at full. Freshly charged and discharged and charged this battery should last a long time. Grid charger harness included as all of these cars should be grid charged frequently. YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY YOUR OWN GRID CHARGER FOR APPX $350 FROM HYBRIDAUTOMOTIVE.COM. Of course the harness is installed and you should grid charge all insights on an as needed basis. Charging and discharging will be discussed with the new owner upon pickup. Interior- above average. I removed the seats and door panels, washed and cleaned the seat covers and door panels thoroughly outside the car and reinstalled. The carpets were freshly shampooed. The carpets on this car are very nice. Very little wear. THESE CITRUS SEATS ARE JAPANESE OEM SEATS THAT WERE MADE FOR THE JAPANESE CITRUS CAR. A handful of us enthusiasts have had these seat covers imported from Japan and placed them in our cars. Last set I saw for sale on ebay were appx $1500. Passenger side is excellent while the driver side has wear on the seat but still in very good condition. Exterior- very good. I'd say an 8 out of 10. Numerous scratches and rock chips from being a 19 year old car. There is a small crease on the passenger door (see pics). There is also some oxidation on the top near the front driver corner and front passenger corner. To make the car perfect would be nice to respray the top but leaving it as is fine also. I'm fine with it. I'd give the exterior 8 out of ten. Paint is all original. Headlights were professionally sanded and clear coated by world renowned Insight expert (and my best friend) Scott Kulbeck from Covina, CA. Underneath- above average. All underneath body panels intact. Engine compartment-above average. Had this professionally detailed. I must say that this car has "GREAT BONES". These cars are aluminum with aluminum frames but I frequently see the fasteners (bolts) covered in rust. Not on this car. This car has exceptionally clean fasteners. They look new. No check engine lights, tranny purrs as it should for low miles, motor fires right up and sounds great. Should last easily for another 200,000-300,000 mi. Oil and Filter - just changed. Ready to go. This car is great for fuel economy. A friend of mine in Las Vegas achieved over 100 MPG on a tank of gas (10 gal tank 1000+ mi). In temperatures of 95-100+ degrees he would drive with the windows up, no a/c of course and get huge mpg. But he's a little nuts...and so am I. Just shows you what can be achieved with these cars. Great cars if you drive a lot or if you are just frugal. I'm neither. I just like the look of the car and want to be as gas independent as I can without getting too nuts. Car also goes into auto-stop easily which is where the engine shuts off when idling and starts instantaneously when you step on the gas. This helps your mpg greatly and some Insights don't lean burn easily or go into auto-stop. You guys buying these cars with bad tranny's and IMA's (battery pack) will be faced with possible repairs of $4k or more. This car is done. Tranny purrs. Nice performing IMA that was recently charged. Get in, drive and send me a thank you after you have the car. Money was no issue in making this the best that it can be. No corners cut. No issues. PERIOD. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this car. I'm appx 20 miles NW of Indianapolis, IN and you can fly in to IND (Indianapolis, IN airport) and I'll meet you at the airport and you can drive home. Anywhere including Timbucktoo. I acquired this in the summer of 2011 on a whim when it popped up on Craigslist just a few hours away. I am the third owner; it was purchased new in New Hampshire, then to Philadelphia and now with me in the middle of nowhere in central PA. New hybrid batteries were installed by a Honda dealer in December of 2010 just before I got it and it had 105k miles on it when I took it home. I had a 108 miles round trip commute to work but split time carpooling and have a Civic so I didn't drive it in rain or snow, it was just a fair weather commuter car. And it was awesome for that, I mastered hypermiling and my personal best was 82.4 mpg / 804 miles on a single tank. But life happens, my office was closed so now I work from home and I got married and my wife doesn't drive MT. I was hoping to keep it as part of a collection but this car is too special to be hidden away and not driven. I also preferred this as a highway car and recently purchased an EV as my new around-town car. The Insight currently has just over 139k miles and is PA inspected through October. It's got a Hybrid Automotive grid charger and when it is not being driven it has a dedicated garage spot and is hooked to a 12V battery tender. I was told the rear motor mount is worn so I got a new one but haven't installed it yet. I also put a Honda CD player in it from a CRV but I've still got the original cassette player. Grid charger, motor mount and OEM head unit are all included with the car. It's got some scratches on the body and wheels, I assume from its time as a city car. Lifetime MPG is inaccurate as it was reset by my mechanic a couple of times. Door panels and carpeting could stand to be cleaned and is worn through on the driver's floor. Transmission grinds when downshifting into 2nd, otherwise no known issues running or driving, anytime I want to use it I just hop in and go. VIN tags on all body panels. Michelin Energy Saver tires with low miles. Title, owner's manual and 3 keys in-hand. The photos were all taken in the past few days except the high MPG pic.
