Imagine if Formula One engineers built a sports car. Well, they did, and it's Honda's S2000. When it needed engineers to take the SSM concept car from show car to sports car, Honda found them in its racing department. This 2002 Honda S2000 has resided its entire life in the Carolina's, the first owner sold it when it had 1920 miles, the second owner perfectly preserved it for 17 years and drove until recently. The S2000 comes with all its books, keys and every service record, saved in a binder, nothing has been left out from its life. Car comes with a new set of tires including a recent service completed. Presently the car is stored in a climate controled environment awaiting its next home. Never wrecked/abused. Clean title - basically all original and unmolested. This is the Holy Grail for VTEC lovers, just a week ago a 2009 with only 91 miles sold for an isane $70k , its one of Honda's greatest cars ever. (check out thedrive graham-rahals-2009-honda-s2000-with-only-91-miles-just-sold-for-an-insane-70000). The power is delivered by a 1,997 cc inline four-cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine. The engine generates power outputs of 177–184 kW (241–250 PS; 237–247 hp), and 208–218 N⋅m (153–161 lbf⋅ft) of torque depending on the target market. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and Torsen limited slip differential. The S2000 achieved what Honda claimed as the highest specific output of a normally aspirated production automobile engine in the world. For the 2002 and 2003 model year, suspension settings were revised and the plastic rear window was replaced by a glass unit incorporating an electric defroster. Other updates included slightly revised tail lamps with chrome rings, an upgraded radio with separate tweeters, a leather gearshift knob, leatherette console cover and a revised engine control unit. S2000 for sale, $15,000 2002 Honda s2000. This is essentially a track car that is still street legal. It is excellent on road courses with pinpoint handling and very good speed. It is equally good on the street: great handling and good in traffic. It is totally fun in either role. This was a salvage at one time but I have had the front frame professionally rebuilt to stronger-than-new standards. The engine has only a few miles on a rebuild and the transmission and differential were also recently replaced. Included are two sets of wheels with nearly new street tires on one and slicks (about 50%) on the other, plus spare brake pads and rotors. Track mods include quick release steering wheel, AIM electronic dash, Mugen aftermarket hard top, rear wing, fuel surge tank, electric oil pump, aluminum racing radiator, Corbeau racing seats and 5 point harnesses, dash mounted ignition and battery disconnect, brackets for Solo lap timer and Chatterbox.
