Hello Jag Guys....What you are looking at here today is a bit of a "unicorn" in Jag circles. Everyone who knows jag sedans realizes that the 95-97 Jaguar XJ6 is certainly the best, most dependable, trouble free Jag ever made...But many people don't realize that the same car was built from mid 95-97 with a supercharged 4.0 6cyl 322 hp engine. This is what you are looking at here today. 1997 Jaguar XJR long wheelbase sedan. I love this 4.0 6 cyl engine and have had this engine installed in several of my other Jags (1971 XKE coupe, and 3 Daimler DS420 limos) 2 of the Limos have the supercharged 4.0 like is in this XJR so I know this car very well. I actually bought this car back in 2005 from a real Jag guy who had had hip surgery and couldn't get in and out of it anymore. I just bought it in case I ever needed another engine and trans for an older Jag upgrade. The problem was, the car was so nice, I could never bring myself to tear it apart...so I started driving it, pretty much daily. It has wonderful AC (which blows Ice cold) and drives great. I drive 18 miles either way to my Handicapped van factory daily and this XJR is a pleasure. Last year I noticed a couple clunks when you hit a bump, so we pulled out the entire rear suspension cage, cleaned and painted everything and replaced all worn bushings, shocks, bearing brakes so it is glass smooth now. I also replaced several front end bushings so no more rattles or clunks and this car can easily cruise at 90 mph smooth as glass.If you really know XJRs, you may realize that they all had a rather strange, smoky wood grain on the dash and an off white interior leather. It really looked terrible to me, so about 7 years ago I bought a really nice 96 XJ6 (that I used the engine in my 1971 XKE). This sedan was a very clean Atlanta car that was Black with Black leather and burled walnut dash. I had 2 of my guys spend a week and completely take every part of the interior out and install it in this 97 XJR. I mean everything, from carpet, to sill plates, to door panels, to dash, seats front and rear center console, everything. So Now we have a beautiful Full Black leather interior with burled walnut wood trim. Also, I had proper Jaguar wheels put on the car (5 matching ones) which I just put on brand new Continental radials. This XJR has always used synthetic oil and still does and does NOT burn one drop from oil change to oil change. Sunroof works perfectly in ALL positions, and the cup holder is NOT broken. The car has a gorgeous body and original paint which is very good. This car really needs NOTHING and will drive anywhere , anytime with no problems. I guess it sounds like a bit of over stating but I do Know this car intimately and it is a good as they get. My problem is I have too many cars and as the guy I got it from, at age 71, I am having some trouble getting out of car easily...Low is beautiful in this XJR but sometimes you have to accept reality......so It is time for someone else to enjoy this "best of all Jag sedans". I have never kept track of what I have in my cars, but I do NOT scrimp on anything to keep them up and ready, so I feel that this $8500 asking price is very fair indeed. 2000 Jaguar XJR138K MilesSilver with Black interior The car runs and drives great. It is inspected until July 2019. Over $3,000 has been invested in the car since October of 2018. Brand new Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires were installed in November 2018. The engine (96K miles) and transmission have been replaced within the past 4 years. The body is in good shape.
