********************************* This is a re-list due to a local buyer talking me into ending the auction, then totally flaking! I will not end auctions early anymore as he has ruined it for everyone****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** This is an auction for my 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. This was one of my father's cars, that he purchased in 2015 from Wyoming. As you can see from the photos is the more rare British Racing green, and has the dark wheel option which I have only seen on one other XK8. This car has a clean title, and a clean car-fax showing no accident damage and showing service history up until 98k miles, which is around the time my father purchased it. Car-fax will go with the car. This car currently has 101,528 miles on it. My father drove this car quite a bit while he was working on it, and he loved it. My father spent the better part of 60 years in the muscle car and collector car hobby and he never collected or purchased junk. My father never put the title to this car in his name. I have a clear Wyoming title that is signed over from the previous owner. Simply take that title to your DMV, and it is like you purchased the car from that owner. No "date of sale" or price has been written on the title, so it will be very easy to get the car titled in the buyers name. Ok, with that being said, my father passed away in 2016 and unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about this car and the one person that knew everything about it is no longer here to ask. I know that at some point right before he purchased it, it got wet inside. I don't know if a window was left down for a period of time, but it got decently wet. My father pulled all the carpet and sound insulation out of it, and was in the process of starting to pull the seats to clean the underneath when he passed away. There is an odor in the car that is because it got wet. The odor is hard to describe, and some have said they cant smell anything, but to me it's there. My father was going to pull the seats and clean everything very well in order to get rid of the odor. So that being said, NO, this car was NEVER IN A FLOOD, but I think it had a power window motor problem and was left outside. I know my father worked on both front windows and got them working perfectly, so I am assuming that it may have been a window stuck down while it sat outside before he owned it. Also, I noticed that it looks like someone put some foil in the left front headlight housing, possibly to increase the reflector? I know this was an old trick from the 60's to increase the brightness, but most likely that headlight housing would need to be replaced. What I DO KNOW about the car is that it starts and runs excellent! No smoke, no knocks, no shakes, just fires right up and runs great. There is a power steering leak from the pressure side that only leaks when the car is running. Should be a simply fix as it is either a small split in the hose, or the hose may just be loose. The transmission shifts smooth as silk, and the car has a lot of power and will scoot! When I started it and drove it, it was showing a warning light for the stability control and traction control. I know my father unplugged some things when he was taking pieces apart and repairing things, so I have no idea if it is something as simple as being unplugged, or is a bad sensor, or something else. The brakes feel nice and tight with a firm pedal, the top cycles up and down as it should (which can be a problem on some of these XK8's,) and there are no squeaks, rattles, or knocks driving it. I only drove this car 4 miles, but it felt tight and the steering was responsive and the handling was tight. It drove very well! The seats are in great shape, with no tears or splits and they hardly have any wear lines on them. The plastic piece that surrounds the shifter and houses the window switches is broken and will need to be replaced. Also, the clear coat on the hood looks to be getting a bit thin in places and is a bit cloudy. The car was stored inside in a climate controlled shop the entire time my father owned it, but has just been moved to an outside storage due to closing down my father's shop. It took me over 2 years to close down and remove everything from the shop, so the car has only been outside since mid-November. I really don't know anything else about this car. I know my father loved this car, paid WAY MORE for it than my starting bid, and I am starting the bid almost 2K under book value and way below what this car is worth. But don't get me wrong, it needs some TLC, and It needs someone to give it some love and care and I believe it would be a great car with minimal investment. I CAN HELP with shipping. Shipping is at the expense of the buyer, but I work with and have used 2 shippers local to me. these guys have hauled several cars for me and I trust their care they give. They are not 20 truck fleets, but one man operations that are licensed, insured, and ship classic cars all over the US. Sometimes they are backed up and shipping can take a while (30 days) so you are welcome to book through your own shipper and I will work with them to get the car loaded. I will store this car free of charge to the winning bidder for up to 30 days or longer if needed for shipping purposes. I have sold several cars here through eBay, and my feedback speaks for itself. Payment needs to be in the form of a bank check, cash in person, or bank wire. A very rare Jag XK8 Coupe in the original British Racing Green. A true sports car in every sense of the word; spirited performance (up to 160 mph) and ground hugging handling.
