2007 Lotus Exige S LOADED - 2007 Lotus Exige S - TRACK PACK - TOURING PACK - STAR SHIELD & MORE!

2007 Lotus ExigeVIN: SCCVC11157HL83258Listing Date: 2019/05/08
Price: $XX,990.0Mileage: XX,100Location: Minneapolis,MN,USA

This 2007 Lotus Exige S has 28,100 miles. Miles may go up slightly if I take it out on a nice day. The color is Phantom Black. It's got star shield, traction control, track pack, and the touring pack! I'm a full believer in including full disclosure and as much details as possible when selling a car so this will be a lengthy post... This car is supercharged from the factory, and if you drive an Elise or a non-supercharged Exige, and then drive this, the difference is truly night and day. Having owned an Elise for a couple years I got a taste of what it was like to drive a supercharged Lotus Exige and had to put the Elise for sale to pick up an Exige S. I have owned this Exige S for a little over a year. It's an absolute blast to drive, and gets tons of comments everywhere you go. People really enjoy the black color too. I have a certificate of provenance from Andy Graham at Lotus for this Exige. I will provide a copy of this to the new owner (I like to keep the originals of the cars I own). The certificate will show that this car is #9 of 13 total that have the same options and color, so it's a decently rare car. Check out the photos for the full write-up from Andy Graham. To my knowledge this car has a clean history and has never been in any accidents. I can provide a copy of the carfax that I ran when I first purchased the car, however, I always recommend the buyer spend the $50 to purchase it and see for themselves. This car has very desirable upgrades that many Lotus owners do (or want to do) to their cars including the carbon fiber center console and the very desirable rear tail light upgrade (the stock LED tail lights have issues where they burn out easily). UPGRADES:The full list of upgrades (that I'm aware of):-Larini SC sport exhaust (sounds absolutely phenomenal)-Sector 111 DSbrace-GRP rear tail lights (the highly demanded version 2)-GRP carbon fiber center console-Carbon fiber steer wheel insert-GRP red front tow hook (not installed in any photos, but will be included)-Rear camera (non-functioning, I believe the previous owner must have had a different head unit installed that had a display)-32 Pin iPod adapter (non-functioning, see above)-Easy battery tender hook up (just plug and play to hook the car up to a battery tender EXTERIOR: The car has normal wear you would expect from a 12 year old car, but overall it's in excellent condition. I would say it's an 9/10... The car has the star shield option so the front clam, rear clam, and rocker panels all have clear bra, though I would say that if you wanted the cars paint to be a 9.5/10 then I would recommend having those replaced. The rims are all in great condition. When I purchased the car every single taillight had at least 1 LED light out, so I took those out and replaced them with the GRP tail lights which look better, and work better. They really modernize the rear end of these cars and I highly recommend them to anyone out there. I put weatherstripping around every taillight to ensure that it would not let any water into the trunk which can be a common problem with aftermarket light options, and sometimes even the stock ones. This prevents that from happening at all. I hand wash and detail the car myself. I'm no expert at detailing, but at least I know I'm getting the job done the way I would want it done. INTERIOR: The interior is super clean and in great condition, and has an almost brand new carbon fiber center console installed. I would say it's an 8.5/10 It's also got the carbon fiber steering wheel insert. The only fault I have noticed on the interior is that one of the previous owners must have done what so many other people make the mistake of doing and that's using a certain cleaning agent on the steering wheel - it removes the fine finish. At least that's what I believe happens, it might be something to do with the sun, but my old Elise never had this problem and I never used bad cleaning products on the steering wheel. Arguably you'll find just as many cars for sale that have this issue than you will find that don't. The plastic side sills on the car have normal minor scratches that 99.99% of all Eliges have from people getting in and out, but I pride myself on years of Elige ownership in that I try not to ever scrape my feet on those things. I get by not hitting it most of the time. ENGINE: The engine, as far as I know, is totally stock and in excellent condition. I do oil changes twice per year and definitely don't drive it anywhere near the 10k recommended changing interval. The clutch is in good condition, however, when the car first starts up and until the gear oil is warm it makes a slight grind sometimes when shifting into 3rd gear. It doesn't always happen, and this completely goes away when the gear oil is warmed up. To mitigate this issue I did a gear oil change last winter and the issue seems less prevelant. I also spoke with several other Elige owners about this issue and others seem to have the same exact issue. I've chalked it up to just being another cute Lotus quirk, and now I usually stroll around the neighborhood or let the car warm up for a few minutes before driving so I don't even have the possibility of this happening. Mechanically I've never had any issues with this car. I bought it in New Jersey and my wife and I drove it 1200 miles back to Minnesota. I would highly recommend the next buyer to do the same - we've done it for both the Elise and Exige and it makes for some great memories. I have full faith that the car would not have any issues goind on a 2,000 mile road trip tomorrow. At 21k miles (before I owned the car) it had new suspension bushings, oil/filter change, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, and transmission flush from Gator Motorsport. HISTORY:I purchased this car from a dealership in New Jersey. If I'm honest, the dealership really didn't know what they were selling. When I called them I asked what the car had done to it and I was told it was 100% totally stock. They were selling the car on consignment for a gentleman who I guess collects exotics and supercars. I did some more research on the VIN and realized that it probably was not a 100% stock vehicle like the dealership alluded to. After I got to the dealership and did some inspections I noticed that it was not stock and did in fact have some (very desirable) modifications. It had the Larini SC sport exhaust, Sector 111 DSbrace, and all of the previously mentioned maintenance performed. I also took note that the car has lots of options like the star shield, traction control, track pack, and touring pack... so I was pretty pleased when I found that out and confirmed when I looked at the car in person. If you want to view that original for sale add from Gator Motorsport that link is here and also includes pictures from their sale ad: https://www.gatormotorsport.com/sales/inventory/preowned/sold-2007-lotus-exige-s-phantom-black-black-leather-21134-miles-thank-you I believe the person that when I purchased the car the person who owned it before me put something like 300 miles on it. The bulk of the mileage would be from the first original owner of the vehicle who I do not have any information on, unfortunately. INSPECTIONS:There are plenty of Lotus gurus in Minnesota who are on many of the online forums like this one who I'm sure would be more than happy to do an honest review of the car. There is also a couple different shops in the area who have Lotus specialists who are fair and honest if you wanted to have the car inspected prior to making a potential trip to look at it for yourself. WHY I AM SELLING:I absolutely love owning Lotus vehicles, but we picked up a Tesla Model S for my wife and everytime I drive that car my jealousy grows more and more, and quite honestly it ruins the experience of other cars. A buddy of mine sold his Lamborghini for the same reason... call us crazy I guess! At the end of the day I've faught tooth and nail to get my wife to let me buy a Tesla for myself and keep the Exige, but she claims I can only have as many cars as I can fit in the garage, and I've got sentimental attachment to my other cars, and unfortunately I've yet to solve how I can fit a lift in my garage to support another car. I know I will probably regret it the second I see the Exige rolling away, but for now the Exige has to go so I can get my own Tesla. I'm sure I will be back in another Exige once I solve the garage space issue. EXTRAS:I will email all professional photos that I have of this car. It's been featured on Lotus Official facebook page, and even at the Minnesota Auto Show. The only other extra I have is the stock center console. TRACK:I've never had the car on a track. This is truly a shame. I can't speak to the previous owners and whether or not they had tracked this, but I can say I have not. I know some people look for cars that have not been tracked, so I can say with certainty that I have not tracked it, but I wish I had. STORAGE:I have always stored the car in our heated garage. TITLE:The title does have a lien on it, Minnesota is a title holding state. That means I have the title in my possession. This is a super easy and hassle free process that I've done with many cars I've sold in the past, it really doesn't add anything additional other than a trip to my bank either by myself or more preferably the buyer and I so we could do the title hand-over and everything right there. The title is otherwise clean as you can see when pulling the AutoCheck or CarFax. IN SUMMARY:I love this car, I'm going to be sad to see it go, but it's just one of those things... whoever picks this up will be getting a well maintained and solid car that's got pretty much all of the desirable things that many people look for in their hunt for an Elige. I would be more than happy to do a skype/facetime video call with anyone who is interested and show you the actual car in real time and answer any questions. If you want to come look at the car in person I am available pretty much any weekend. During the week I'm usually able to be slightly flexible but it really depends on how many meetings I've got going on. I'm probably forgetting something, and if I think of anything else I will update this post accordingly. Please message me for my contact info or reply here and we can get in touch. Almost all of the mileage on the car during my ownership is from our drive back from New Jersey to Minnesota, and then from random day trips to my parents house (200 mile round trip). LOCATION:Near Plymouth, Minnesota 55447 (suburbs of Minneapolis / MSP). I can pick you up from the airport if you fly in. If you choose to have it trailered I can accomodate that as well (I don't recommend simply because the experience of driving it home will be amazing).

CLASSIC CAR RESTORATIONSThe term "restoration" in context to the vintage car world has taken on a definition of its own. For some people, a restoration is simply painting a car and replacing items as needed, while for others, restoration means an extensive disassembly and overhaul, with each piece getting rebuilt or replaced. As a consumer, it's important to understand the basics of restoration levels for it can impact classic car values substantially. There are hundreds of ways to restore a vintage car or truck including but not limited to the following: i). Frame off restoration. Body of vehicle is completely taken off the frame and restoration includes body, frame, floor pans (top and bottom), etc. these restorations tend to be extensive and costly. ii). Rotisserie restoration. These restorations are when the body (or body and frame on a unibody vehicle) are disassembled and restored utilizing a rotisserie. Body of vehicle is completely taken off the frame and restoration includes body, frame, floor pans (top and bottom), etc. these restorations tend to be extensive and costly and iii). Cosmetic or driver quality restoration. These restoration are typically limited to cosmetic items including paint and body, interior, trim and emblems, etc. Within the three levels or restoration mentioned above, there can be varying quality from an in the garage / amateur restoration to a high dollar professional concours restoration. There is a universal 100 point grading system rating classic car conditions ranging from 100 being excellent to 20 being unrestorable. In addition to the levels of restoration above, it's important to understand the type of restoration as well for it can also impact value substantially. Type of restorations include: i). Factory or stock restoration. This type of restoration is geared towards restoring the car or truck to stock specs from the factory as if it were new. These types of restorations use original or oem (original equipment manufacturer) where possible. Factory original restorations tend to bring the highest dollars from collectors. ii). Custom restoration. These types of restorations are geared towards builder preference over factory stock. These can be refereed to as customs or hot rods. Typically these vehicles will have custom paint work, aftermarket wheels, suspension upgrades, power plant transplants, etc. A specific sector of custom restoration vehicles is pro-touring or restomod / restomods which are custom built with a more modern street performance and creature comforts than the original factory vehicle. Please note that WWVA is not a restoration shop nor do we restore vehicles to any degree. For questions on what type or level of restoration of any of our vehicles in inventory please call our vintage sales expert today at 1-877-422-2940.We provide approximately 75 HD images, and an HD video, in every one of our listings.
