2002 Maserati Spyder Cambicorsa F1 Convertible FERRARI ENGINE PADDLESHIFT ITALIAN GRAND TOURING CRUISER V8 360 355 MAKE OFFER

2002 Maserati SpyderVIN: ZAMBB18AX20006456Listing Date: 2019/01/02
Price: $XX,999.0Mileage: XX,392Location: Cincinnati,OH,USA

This 2002 Maserati Spyder Cambiocorsa F1 (automatic and manual paddle-shift transmission) has just a little over 56,300 original miles! It is just 1 of a few hundred that were designated for the US for the inaugural year of the model (Original MSRP was over $90,000). Finished in the Grigio Touring Silver with dark blue interior and matching top, it just evokes the elegance of the brand! This includes the 4.2 liter Ferrari engine pushing nearly 400 horsepower. The best part about this car, better than the Alfa Romeo or Ferrari, is the exhaust note. It sounds brutal! People really are drawn to this car from the sound, we've received more compliments on this car than any other in our collection (and we used to have some pretty rare and significant vehicles!). It is the perfect weekend cruiser and will only increase in value as it nears collector status. This particular Spyder is loaded with a CD changer and navigation along with all of the standard options listed in the Wikipedia description of the model at the bottom of the listing. In good working order, it's running great and is driven regularly! We have been using it as a secondary car for about the past year and it has never let us down. The Maserati did recently have some maintenance work done, which included a new fuel pump and new battery and the parking brake was serviced. It has always been garage-kept and is maintained regularly. The interior is in pretty good shape for its age, no rips or tears in the seats, no major stains in the carpet and original floor mats. The radio and climate control work. The buttons and trim pieces suffer from the typical "sticky" Ferrari issue that most people interested in this vintage of Italian cars know well. The headlight switch is turned to the "on" position, but the switch portion has broken (we have the pieces). Using a wrench, you can turn them off, we just kept them in the "on" position so we wouldn't have to worry about changing it. The lights automatically turn off when you turn the key off. The cigarette lighter and housing were moved to the trunk by a previous owner to allow for the use of a battery tender. This has actually been a benefit for us over the winter, making it so easy to keep it charged and ready to go at any time out of our climate-controlled garage. Also, the plastic housing around the navigation CD drive in the center console is missing. This also does not come with the navigation CD. The CD changer is in the trunk and is complete. It powers on and sometimes connects to the radio, but is very finicky. The only other intermittent problem we have is that the right turn signal works about 30 percent of the time. The exterior of the car presents well for its age. There are a few scrapes on the rear bumper and the corner of the bumper and fender on the driver side as well as a few other marks here and there. It is missing its Maserati grill emblem, but honestly we liked the look of it better without it. The top is original and does show a wear spot on the driver side (see pictures). The top does go up and down, but does need some help to get the middle brace to fold properly. This is a typical problem of the Maserati and just involves pushing down on the top so that it can activate the boot door to close. The rear tires are less than a year old (Michelin Pilot Sport), but front tires show about 50 percent wear. I uploaded a video of the Maserati running and a walkaround. Either Google or go to Youtube and enter in the phrase 2002 Maserati Spyder Cambiocorsa F1 Walkaround and Running. EBay won't allow photos to be included in the ad anymore via HTML hosting so, if you'd like to see any more pictures, please email and I will send a link. This vehicle is over 15 years old and is being sold AS-IS with NO guarantees expressed or implied. We are not responsible for shipping, the buyer will need to make arrangements, we will help load. We are open for pick-up times due to my father being retired. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to schedule an appointment to view the Maserati in person. Also, if you have any questions, please ask them PRIOR to purchase. Please be sure to review and assess the condition for yourself through the description and pictures provided. Thanks for viewing our listing! Enclosed below is information about the Maserati Spyder from Wikipedia and the current NADA values: The Spyder was first unveiled to the public at the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show with the Coupé's debut following shortly thereafter at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show.[9] Sales in the United States began in March 2002 for the Spyder and in May for the Coupé.[10] The release of the Spyder heralded Maserati's return to the North American market after an 11-year hiatus. Almost as soon as it was introduced, the Spyder was selected by Forbes as the Best GT for 2001. The Coupé and Spyder were designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign, who also designed the Maserati Ghibli, and the later mid-engine 1971 supercar Maserati Bora. Interiors design was commissioned to Enrico Fumia and based heavily on 3200 GT interiors, restyled in 1999. The cars were built at the Viale Ciro Menotti plant in Modena, Italy. The Maserati Spyder is a soft-top convertible that is electronically operated by a pushbutton on the center console. The top automatically stows beneath a hard cover that sits flush with the body in front of the boot. Both deployment and stowage of the top takes about 30 seconds.[14] Arch-type roll bars are provided behind each seat. The Spyder's 96.1-inch (2,440 mm) wheelbase is 8.6 inches (220 mm) shorter than the Coupé's. Overall length is 169.4 inches (4,300 mm), width 71.7 inches (1,820 mm), and height 51.4 inches (1,310 mm). Curb weight is 3,600 pounds (1,600 kg).[15] In late 2004 the Coupé and Spyder underwent a very slight facelift. This meant a new, somewhat larger grille with its lower edge pulled somewhat lower into the lower lip of the front bumper. Also the Spyder got a glass rear window in 2003 instead of the standard plastic material. The new grille also features horizontal bars, while the 1963 style oval Maserati logo now mounted on the C-pillars, and a new air outlet (as per GranSport versions) featured on the lower rearmost sides. Equipment The Maserati Coupé and Spyder utilize the same vehicle systems -- engine, transmission, suspension, and interior driver and front passenger controls and safety equipment. Their performance specifications are almost identical, with some reviewers claiming that the Coupé has better performance due to its lesser weight and more rigid body structure, while others measured faster performance from the Spyder. Both models came standard with 18 inch alloy wheels that originally had a 15-spoke design, but after 2003 most buyers chose the optional 7-spoke sport wheels which became standard by 2005. Maserati offered sixteen exterior colours, ten shades of leather interior[19] along with the ability to select among colours for various interior details such as the piping and stitching used. Five colors for the Spyder's convertible top were also offered. Engine Maserati V8 Engine Both models utilize the F136 R V8 belonging to the Ferrari/Maserati F136 engine family; it displaces 4244 cc engine and develops 390 PS (287 kW; 385 hp) at 7000 rpm with a peak torque of 450 N·m (332 lb·ft) at 4500 rpm. Significant changes from the prior 3200 GT engine were the larger displacement resulting from an increased cylinder bore diameter and the move to a naturally aspirated intake that replaced the twin-turbo approach Maserati had used for the previous 20 years, fundamentally because the powertrain is now Ferrari based. The engine operates at a compression ratio of 11.1:1 with the cylinders configured in a 90° V8. The cylinder bore diameter is 92 millimetres (3.62 in) and piston stroke length is 80 millimetres (3.15 in). The engine shares many of the design features of modern racing engines, including dry sump lubrication, a pump assembly located outside the crankcase, and four valves per cylinder. The 32-valve DOHC utilizes chain-driven, twin-overhead camshafts that provide valve actuation in less than 0.15 seconds, with the intake cams being controlled by variable valve timing. The crankcase and cylinder heads are made from an aluminum and silicon alloy, giving the engine a relatively light weight of 405 pounds (184 kg).[1] TransmissionEdit The manual transmission is a six-speed that was available either as a GT (manual stick shift) or CC (Cambiocorsa) using paddle shifters. The GT version utilizes a foot operated clutch, whereas the Cambiocorsa (Italian, meaning "race change") is an electrohydraulic manual transmission that uses a Formula One-type gearbox with hydraulic operation and electronic management operated by F1-style paddles behind the steering wheel, similar to the system used in Ferrari vehicles. The system allows the driver to choose between four different operating modes: Normal, Sport, Auto and Low Grip. Each of these programs is selected by means of console-mounted buttons, corresponding to different types of operating mode. By switching between the Normal and Sport modes, the driver can select between different electronic stability control settings and, if installed, different active suspension settings. The Normal mode provides a more comfortable ride, whereas the Sport mode stiffens up the suspension and provides fast gear shifts of around a quarter of a second.[26][29] Automatic mode electronically handles shifting of the transmission, but allows the driver to rapidly revert to manual using the F1-style paddles. The Low Grip, or Ice mode, allows for smooth starting and gear changes on snow and ice. The transmission gearbox is located at the rear of the vehicle and is integrated in with the differential. This gives both the Coupé and Spyder a 48/52% weight distribution between the front and rear axles. Suspension The Maserati Coupé and Spyder both have a light alloy double wishbone suspension. The rear suspension is fitted with a toe-in regulator bar which enhances the precision of the drive train and provides balanced cornering. The front suspension layout incorporates "anti-dive" features to prevent nose-diving when braking. The suspension system is completed by front and rear anti-roll bars. Perhaps the most highly regarded option is a computer-controlled suspension damping system called "Skyhook". This adaptive damping system uses coil-over shock absorbers and a set of six accelerometers that continually monitor the movement of the wheels and car body and transmits this information to a control unit. The vehicle's computer analyzes this data and coordinates it with the Cambiocorsa transmission and other Maserati safety systems. Skyhook then calculates, and recalculates, the data at least 40 times per second and instantaneously adjusts each shock absorber accordingly. When placed in the Sport mode, the suspension firms up for better cornering. Safety Both vehicles are equipped with front and side driver and passenger airbags as well as seat belt pre-tensioners. Driving stability is provided by Maserati Stability Program (MSP) which became standard on the 2004 models and controls the engine and brakes to help the driver control the vehicle in extreme driving situations. The MSP system integrates four different vehicle systems - the anti-slip regulation traction control (ASR), the motor spin regulation (MSR), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), and anti-lock braking system (ABS). The wheels employ a high-performance Brembo braking system with light alloy four-piston calipers and cross-drilled large ventilating discs. Interior The Coupé and Spyder came standard with an information center that combines audio and climate controls.[39] An optional GPS navigation system and hands-free GSM phone were also available as options integrated into the info center.Additional optional equipment includes xenon headlights, upgraded audio system and CD changer, electrochromic rear view mirror, rear parking sensors, seat heaters, and cruise control.Various interior trim packages were offered, including a leather headliner featuring a grosgrain pattern, and either a carbon fiber kit or Briar wood kit sporting wood portions of the steering wheel, door trim, and shifter.Purchasers could even order custom Maserati luggage, made to match their car's interiors. Rare 6 speed manual Maserati Spyder GT. Spyder has about 36,000 miles and has been babied and had a recent overhaul. The secondary cats have been replaced with formula dynamics decats and also with x-pipe. This was serviced at foreign cars Italia in Greensboro last winter to the tune of roughly $14,000 so the car runs and looks brand new. The sticky buttons and vents have all been replaced and the elastic strats on the convertible have been added so the top works as new. This has the Ferrari F-136R engine so it’s like driving a Ferrari for a lot less. I just don’t drive it enough so hoping to give someone the same smiles it’s given me.

2002 Maserati M138 Spyder GT We are pleased to present this absolutely gorgeous Maserati Spyder! If you're looking at this listing, you probably know all about these cars. They are perhaps the best value in modern exotic cars as you can get an Italian-built near-supercar with a full-blown Ferrari V8 under the hood and the ultra-rare REAL 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION at the rear of the car. This particular Spyder is extremely special because of that manual transmission. Only about 500 Spyders were produced without the troublesome CambioCorsa robotized manual transmission. That gearbox is the main reason for these cars having a less than stellar reputation. With the 6 speed fully manual transmission, these cars are bulletproof reliable. The Ferrari engines are fantastic. The exterior is finished in the very popular Grigio Touring Metallic Then, it has a black top, which is in like new condition. It also has a number of options including the very important xenon headlamps with high-pressure headlamp washers, heated seats, satellite navigation, auto-dimming interior mirror, and most importantly, it has the awesome skyhook suspension system. Skyhook is an electronically controlled suspension system with two modes for sport or comfort, and the dampers are continually adjusted for changing road conditions and the positon of the car relative to them. It also has the factory BBS aluminum alloy wheels which are staggered 18" units wrapped in the proper Pirelli PZero tires. The interior of this Maserati is in nearly new condition. It looks new. It smells new. It basically IS new. It has GORGEOUS leather seats which are in like new condition and are finished in Bordeaux. The hand brake lever is leather-wrapped, as is the steering wheel. The paddles are leather faced with alcantara on the back. The car has a audio system which features several speakers, along with a CD Player in the center console. The previous owners of this car were definitely a non-smokers, and it includes an unused ash tray and unused cigar lighter. This Spyder has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags. The trunk is larger than you'd expect for a small exotic convertible. The carpet floor mats are included and are in excellent condition. Absolutely everything works and works properly. The gauges and warning lights all function and no warning lights are illuminated. The exterior of this Maserati is in stunning condition and has no flaws that I could find. It is Grigio Touring (Metallic Silver) in color. The car has its original staggered 18 inch wheels which are in fantastic condition. They're a perfect fit for the car's appearance in my opinion. The exterior condition is also like-new. This car has only 25k miles and was not driven in the winter. The canvas convertible top is in great condition and operates perfectly with no assistance. The tires are matching Pirellis with good tread remaining, and the tires in the proper sizes for the front and rear. The brakes are in good shape and the car stops on a dime. The Ferrari V8 engine runs flawlessly and the 30k mile service was completed by us. The ultra-rare 6 speed manual transmission feels perfect. The Skyhook suspension operates perfectly and is perhaps the most expensive and sought-after option on these cars. It's a must have. The black soft top is in perfect condition and as I mentioned above, is in beautiful condition. See the pics. The original owners manual set is included and is in its original leather folio. In summary, if you're looking for a Maserati Spyder, THIS IS THE ONE! There have been no nicer M138 Maseratis on ebay in recent times. The condition is like-new, and the transmission sets it apart from every other Spyder on eBay. Don't let this car slip away! Make an offer and you may own your dream car by tomorrow. We can also accept credit cards and personal checks for full payment with prior authorization. Simply contact us before bidding or making your offer to let us know that you plan on paying with one of these methods so that we can let you know about additional terms that apply. Non-paying buyers will be reported to ebay. We charge a $255 dealer services fee for all transactions. This fee covers any additional paperwork service, overnighting of paperwork, and dealer prep. We can provide a temporary cardboard plate for out of state customers at no charge. Pennsylvania residents will need to pay sales tax between 6% and 7% depending upon your county of residence. There are also Pennsylvania fees for the registration, title, and license plate (unless you bring your own plate to transfer). Inexpensive used cars are not at all the same as a brand new car, or certified pre-owned vehicle. They are in no way flawless, or perfect. As noted above, we try our absolute best to disclose any issues which may be present on the car, however a car's condition is somewhat subjective and opinion based. Where door ding may be considered perfectly acceptable on a 10 year old car, it would never be acceptible on a car which is brand new. Also, on higher-mileage used cars, it is important to remember that virtually any mechanical or non-mechanical component can fail at any time. We cannot predict what components will fail in the future, or when they will fail. This is simply the nature of older higher mileage used vehicles. The best that we can do is assure that the car is operating properly at the time of purchase. This car is sold as-is, and we cannot be held responsible for any mechanical or non-mechanical failure. Additionally, because we do not know the inspection requirements of other states, we cannot guarantee that this vehicle will pass any out-of-state inspections.
