A veritable '90s era museum piece with just over 2200 actual miles behind it (not a misprint), it's an unusually well-configured, '90s-era muscle car poised to provide its next owner years of high-powered, open motoring exhilaration. Black cars are a sort of "high-risk/high reward" proposition, as blemishes and incidental evidence of wear can elevate the former over the latter and make imperfections all the more obvious, but there are no such concerns with this Firebird. Almost certainly having spent its life safely sheltered in a garage, it's sporting a coat of black paint that looks especially nice, not even showing the common swirl marks so often the evidence of overzealous detailing. From all angles, it's just a great-looking car - plenty of flash and yet still refined, with every curve and contour well-placed. You can see the engineering attention that must have gone into this model before it rolled out, as it looks like it would cut through headwinds like a knife even when standing still. Even the long scoop rising from the center of the hood has a taper to it to minimize drag. It sits fittingly low to the ground, with an aerodynamic profile that's accentuated by the sharp angle of its windshield and a taper that elevates gracefully from front to back. Just as you'd hope for in a car that's logged so few miles, the gray interior is in super clean shape. It's easy to picture yourself carving turns on a starry night with the top down, but on those occasions when you're looking for a little more protection from the elements, the power convertible top raises without incident and sits nice and tight to the windshield, minimizing wind noise. The leather buckets up front show very little wear and look very supportive, with deep bolstering. In contrast to most cars, the bench seat in back also looks as if it was designed to hold its occupants in place. Well-equipped with a variety of convenience features, this Firehawk comes with a host of convenience options that make for a comfortable driving experience. The A/C is blowing strong and cold, the steering column has plenty of tilt to accommodate drivers of all shapes and sizes and the power windows roll up and down without a hitch. The 5.7-liter V8 engine puts down 300 horsepower and 330 lb. ft of torque get this car going in a hurry. SLP (Street Legal Performance) took an already stout Firebird and recalibrated the fuel management system, added SLP Loudmouth stainless steel exhaust with tuned headers, 3.73 gear ratio and a 6-speed manual transmission.
