2007 Saturn Aura XE for SALE!! I have a 2007 Saturn Aura XE with 107,xxx miles on it (this car is a driven daily so the miles will go up). This car has been adult driven for the last 8 years. I just replaced the outer tie rod ends, it has new brakes on the front, new battery 4 months ago and a new fuel pump 2 months ago. Great gas mileage. This vehicle is being sold "AS IS". There are a few minor dents and dings. The rear bumper has a few scratches on it and there is a small ding above the rear passenger door. And there are a few interior parts that are cracked. This Auction: is for a very nice 2007 Saturn Aura XR 4-Door Sedan, with 3.6 liter V-6, automatic transmission, front wheel drive, black leather power seats, power glass moonroof, in overall good condition - A Very Nice Used Car. I am selling this for my sister, who is the original owner and bought it brand new in 2007 when it was awarded the Car & Driver North American Car of The Year Award. Over the 11 years she drove this car 141,500 miles and has enjoyed it for local driving in Central California and on several long freeway trips. It has always been in California. The car is very clean, the leather seats are very good, and there are only a few minor door dings and paint scratches. It has some very minor wear and tear normal for an 11 year old car, but is in overall good condition. Please look at all photos. I include all maintenance and service records. My sister does not smoke, and no one has ever smoked inside the car. Personalized License Plates are not included - you'll need new plates when you register the car after buying. Saturn Aura Details: The exterior is in very good condition with no large dents, and only a few small normal door dings, paint scratches, stone chips, etc. The interior has full power driver and passenger black leather seats in very good condition. My sister averaged about 24 mpg, and Saturn listed it as 18 mpg city and 28 mph highway. The engine runs smooth and quiet and the transmission shifts very nicely. The stereo system has very nice sound, but I think the CD player is stuck (who still uses those). It does have dual front airbags, side airbags, and is an overall very nice and safe mid-size sedan. It has traction control and anti-lock brakes. The trunk is large and has a nice Saturn Aura large heavy carpet mat, and all foot wells have similar nice floor mats. The front tires are near new Uniroyal Tiger Paw purchased about one year ago and have near new tire tread depth. The car drives fine, but there is some road noise from the rear tires, which are not worn down to the wear bars, but are getting a bit noisy. You can feel some rear tire vibration when driving. I would recommend you buy new tires to replace the rear ones, then rebalance the front tires and rotate all so the two brand new ones are on the front, and the one year old ones are on the back, as this is a front wheel drive car. You can also feel a slight “clunk” when turning the steering wheel at parking lot slow speeds and very slow driving (slight turns up to maybe 15 mph). This is from the steering column splined shaft where it goes to the steering rack. If you lay on your back in the driver footwell, and slightly turn the wheel left and right, you can see exactly what is happening. To fix it you have to remove and re-grease the spline steering column joint or buy a new one (make sure the new one is greased well). I think GM did not make a good design because it’s hard to grease or replace this. It’s done this minor clunk thing for over half the cars life and the dealer says it’s normal wear, my sister didn’t mind, but it annoys me. There is no play in the steering, just this little clunk only at slow speeds. The car once had a minor (cosmetic damage) rear impact that was properly repaired. It also had the transmission replaced by GM under warranty at around 85,000 miles. My sister had regular maintenance done including spending a few thousand dollars at a Chevy dealer in Modesto last year, and I’ve also changed the oil, cleaned the car and helped her with minor maintenance several times. Earlier this year, mice chewed up some wiring and it cost several hundred dollars getting that replaced. Damn mice. She is selling it because she’s a teacher and not a mechanic, and so she just bought a brand new 2018 car (and put D-con in the garage to get those damn mice). Note the Saturn Aura is nearly the same as the Chevy Malibu of the same year, so most parts are easily available at a Chevy, Buick, or any GM dealership. Because this is an 11 year old car, only people who are capable mechanics should buy it. If you can’t fix minor stuff yourself, or have a good affordable mechanic to help, then you should buy a new car (and not anyone’s 11 year old car, including this one). I am not saying there is anything wrong beyond what I described, or that I expected anything to go wrong. I am saying this is an 11 year old car and older cars will need maintenance and repairs more than new cars. This Saturn has never been in a major accident, and of course it is not a flood damage vehicle. This Saturn Aura has a clear title (never stolen, never broken into, not repossessed, not lemon lawed, etc., with only one owner, my sister) and has only been registered in California. I have the California Certificate of Title (there is no loan to payoff) with the car, and my sister already signed off the title. My sister is under zero financial or any other pressure to sell this car, so I have no reason to accept any low offers below KBB Private Party Values.
