We'd purchased the motor on ebay (2.5L) with appx. 89,000 miles on it and had it professionally rebuilt and installed.- Upgraded to 2004-2006 model springs and new struts all-around corresponded by 1" lift kit by Subtle Solutions (suspension lift with metal components, not the cheap plastic ones).- New door seals- New rubber floor mats- Newer headlights- Little to no rust Con's:- Speakers don't all work. I think I missed connecting a wire when I replaced the door seals for drivers rear side. Pretty sure the drivers side one was blown. Recommend just getting new speakers as they are original anyway. Passenger front and rear along with tweeters work fine.- Door lock from drivers control panel doesn't work. Pretty sure there's a bent wire at the door hinge on drivers side. I use the key-fob to lock the vehicle so I know it's not a bad solenoid.- Removed the tow hitch that was installed when I'd purchased the vehicle back in 2006 (installed by u-haul). I cut the wires and taped/sealed the wire ends when I did this. I think I used caps but could've used tape...too long ago to remember. I've towed maybe 5 times with this vehicle. It does fine but since it's a manual you need to stay in 4th gear unless you're on flat interstate while towing so you don't put stress on the transmission.- Tow-hook cover missing from front bumper.- Cruise control works but you need to hold the set speed for a couple seconds when it's cold outside. There's probably a part that needs to be lubricated or something. I don't know.- Parking brake works but needs to be adjusted to get a solid brake. I pull the brake fully and put it in gear when parking on any incline/decline. We detailed this vehicle a couple years ago and have tried to keep it clean since but use is use. Please see the videos for current condition (needs some cleaning). I love this vehicle dearly but our family is just not using it that much anymore and it's time for it to go to someone that will appreciate it. Shuffling vehicles in the driveway is getting old as well. With the snow tires on it is absolutely amazing in snow/ice conditions. I doubt I'll ever have a vehicle that does this well, particularly with the manual transmission. The extra set of snow tires goes with the vehicle along with the Thule Ski Rack. The current set of all season tires have another summer season of life on them but I'd recommend getting some new ones depending on your use after that. About this vehicle: I purchased it as a second owner in Portland, OR with roughly 40k miles on it in 2006. I was told the lady that had it sold it because she wanted a larger vehicle to tow her boat with it. She is the one that had the u-haul tow hitch installed along with the custom bed topper. I had it while wrapping up college in Oregon and then had it down in the San Francisco bay area where I'd interned. In 2010 I moved back to my home state of Montana and the vehicle has been here since. I think the clutch was last replaced somewhere around 2011-2013 and is fine to the best of my knowledge. When the engine was replaced our mechanic told us we should probably consider having the bushings replaced in the transmission as the vehicle is getting older. I asked him for an estimate of the work and he figured around $400. I haven't noticed a need to do the work but it may not be a bad idea to do it as good preventative maintenance practice. These transmissions are known to be hardy but if something did break loose it could blow the whole transmission. Any time the CV boots have started to leak I've just replaced the shaft with a new boot attached. The rotors and brakes should be good too with no gouges in the rotors. I love this vehicle and will be shedding a tear when it goes. It's been very dear to me and has been incredibly reliable. Please do not hesitate to ask if you'd like me to take any additional videos or pictures. We are putting a reserve price for assurance of getting out what we've invested in the vehicle. We are so sad to say "Goodbye" to our "Yellow Submarine." I seriously have tears in my eyes posting this! This was our first car for our family of four and it has treated us very well these past few years. We originally bought it four years ago from a dealership and it has spent most of its life in Florida. It had been traded in by the previous owner and it was very well taken care of.
