I have decided after many weeks of careful consideration, to put my 2004 Subaru Forester XT up for sale. This car and I have been through hell and back in the last year, but it is now better than it more than likely has ever been. I will probably be in tears when this car pulls out of my driveway, but I am headed in a different direction in my life right now. It’s time to let go. I’ll get it out of the way right off the bat - First off, not even body mileage since that’s all been redone, but “chassis” mileage now, is at 207k. Also, as some of you may know, this car was recently in an accident. I have pretty detailed pictures regarding the hit, and the car’s A and B pillars were professionally pulled straight by an extremely reputable shop. Myself as well as a couple other professional body guys have done the rest of the work. It has been done properly and you wouldn’t know this car was ever in an accident. Still has a clean title, but was considered a “total loss” by my insurance company due to not having mod insurance, and the blue book value of the car being affected from them. I ran a CarFax on 9/25/2018 and have it available for viewing. It was then sprayed professionally with TONS of clear. I own a professional detailing company, and we are still getting stuff sanded out for a flat finish and put back together. This is probably the glossiest car you will see. It will be ceramic coated before sale. I have built this car around the foundation of doing it properly and not cutting corners. Everything has been touched, inspected, modified, or replaced on this car. I have thought and considered every possible option before making a decision when something has been modified. It’s probably one of the cleanest Foresters in the Midwest, and potentially one of the cleanest in the US. When Topshelf did the motor work, they said it was the cleanest Forester they have ever had in. Car has no body rust, ANYWHERE, and the underbody is extremely clean with only a bit of surface rust showing through on the typical components. Car has about 750 miles on the motor and is still in break-in period. At 1000 miles it will get a small amount of boost, so you can get an idea of what it is. 3000 is full break in and ready for a proper tune. Before the build, with just bolt ons, it made 350awhp, 355awtq. I expect 370 or so wheel on a full tune on E, with the turbo being the limiting factor. The motor should be good for at least 450 reliably. As stated, I am super attached to the car, hence the $20k price. I will not take tire kickers, low ballers, or Subaru haters. I don’t care what you think the car is worth, what your bank will give you for a loan, what it blue books at, or what your friend’s, uncle’s, dad’s, cousin’s Forester sold for. I have over $30k into this car and thousands of my own hours into it. It’s been an extension of my life so I will keep it if I don’t get what I want out of it. It WILL take a special buyer. I’m not afraid to wait for that person. I will consider trades with cash on top. If a trade were to take place, I’d be mainly looking for an E39 M5 as it’s a dream car of mine, but I’m open to other things as well. It must be well documented, clean, preferably not from the Midwest, and under 150k miles, less in most cases. Mostly interested in other European cars. I would also trade for a daily - $2-4k range.
