Silver 2002 VW Eurovan GLS. Just flipped 70k miles. These vans are called "low mileage" with well north of 100k on them. Purchased in fall 2012 when it had 40k on it. Have put 5k a year, mostly highway, on it over the last six years. Mileage checked out when I bought it based on receipts, Carfax, etc. Van originally delivered to Volkswagen of America, then in Auburn Hills, MI. Bought by owner in Southwest Michigan who drove it rarely. I bought it from a dealer just across state line in northern Indiana. Terrific vehicle. Looking to sell because kids are getting older and don't need it as much for family trips, hockey weekends, ski weekends, etc. Runs great, clean, no oil leak or burn. New battery in June 2017. Bridgestone Ecopia all season tires with lots of tread left. Had an $1800 brake rebuild done on it last September (have receipt). All service since I've owned it has been done by John & Holger, legendary Metro Detroit shop that services only VW, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. Surprisingly agile in city. Unbelievable on highway, loaded with people and camping gear, sports equipment, vacation stuff. So much cargo space, never needed a roof rack, not even on ski trips. Just seeing it in the driveway makes you want to go on an adventure. Rare enough that you won't see yourself coming and going, Gets lots of smiles.A few small issues: Check engine light comes on. I have two other VWs of same era, both with same light on. They have 150k+ and 170K+ on them and run like tops. Code says air temp. Again, doesn't have any performance effect.Radio antenna is broken off, for anyone who still listens to the radio. The plastic covering the speakers in the doors is cracked. One of the manual booklets is missing. Main issue at moment is shocks/struts, which need to be replaced. Brakes make a "boing" sound at bottom of the brake. Work great but sound is there. ABS-related. A handful of tiny rust spots on hood. A small spot in wheel well of passenger side rear. There was rust along bottom of passenger side when I bought it. First thing I did was spend a couple grand to get fixed.Camper version with same mileage, in same condition, would go for astronomical amount. Great candidate for camper conversion for anyone wanting to go that route.
