My wife and I just had a kid, thus I no longer have the space or the time to continue keeping this thing up. This car has been my daily driver for the last 14 years, and it's been fun...in fact, I'm sad to have to sell it. At 291K, the car obviously shows signs of use and weathering... issues typical of these cars at this age (some rot on fenders and rocker panel, chipped paint on hood, falling headliner). It needs some work, or would make a great (Driveable) parts car for someone's project. I had a swap lined up, but we are finding with this new addition that it's hard to get anything done anymore...so it must go. I get 47 mpg even when I'm gunning it. 50+mpg at cruise. And the A/C works just fine. No codes except for the ABS sensor. Just passed CT emissions this past July.Current issues:The driver's side headlight doesn't work unless the high beams are on. I think it must be a bad ground somewhere.ABS light is on. Most likely a bad sensor.Needs rear brake pads and rotors.Will need new summer tires within 10k. Includes a set of Dunlop Graspic snows on stock steel wheels (plenty of life left)Trunk became a victim of a parking lot hit-and-run. Bumper was pushed in just enough to prevent latching. I never had the inclination to pull it out. I've been using it unlocked for the past 6 years with no problems.If pretty fenders are your thing, you'll want to replace these.I wore a hole in the stock floor mat. Been using one from another vehicle for years now.Recent Work:(liqui moly synthetic every 10k, fuel filter every 20k)290K - oil/filter , fuel filter , air filter , cabin filter 285K - New battery. New MAF260K - Coolant temp. sensor, Glow Plugs256K - Front brake pads, new valve cover, new air filter250K - Rear brake pads and rotors240K - Starter replaced238K - Frostheater installed, new intake manifold, EGR and cooler deleted, Borg Warner VNT15, PP520 nozzles, complete clutch job (VR6 clutch, G60 SMF, new fork, throwout bearing, rear main seal, gear oil), R&R oil pan, Audi TT control arm bushings, new rear axle bushings, all brake calipers, brake fluid, coolant flush, dogbone mount, vacuum lines, new flex pipe and cat, stage 3 tune.219K - Bilstein TC struts and rear springs. It's last timing belt was done by VW at 198K. Receipts for all of these parts.The pioneer head unit is wired through the cubby to plug in an iPod.Trunk has power supply to connect a subwoofer if you are so inclined.Engine easily starts and idles smoothly. Does not knock, or smoke. No coolant leaks, and it only burns about half a quart of oil within 10k.Has the upgraded engine cover QD mounts.
