Up for sale is my 1996 850 Turbo Platinum that I recently purchased from the little old lady. Unfortunately I am going through a lifestyle change and need to downsize my garage. I thought I could hold onto her but alas, she has to go!The previous owner purchased this 850 from Point West Volvo (for those familiar with the Dallas area) in 1999 and had owned it up until recently. The car indicates 133k miles but the odometer stopped not long ago and is estimated to have around 138k. When I say that the previous owner of this Volvo was picky, I mean it! I have thousands upon thousands of dollars of service records on this car as well as a spread sheet on all of the money they had spent over the course of time, too. I'll attach photos of all of that.This car runs phenomenally well with ice-cold A/C. I recently had the entire PCV system replaced as well as an oil change at the local Volvo dealership. Timing belt was replaced in 2015 as well as the water pump. Various suspension pieces have been replaced and the car never missed a scheduled maintenance.It does have a few flaws, such as the ABS/TRACS lights are on, ODO stopped rolling, one light is burnt out in the gauge cluster, and the dome light switch is finicky.This is a great running and driving 850 with nice Michelin tires and would make someone a fantastic daily driver. NEVER any warning lights (even ABS), odometer has ALWAYS worked - mileage is 100% accurate, no broken dash tabs, clean carfax, always passes emissions (even with exhaust and tune), tires are 85% and OEM front/rear engine mounts were done during manual swap. interior is near mint - no tears on seat bolsters, never smoked in..guys PLEASE dont low-ball me, i know what i have here. this is an accident free, low-mile, 2 owner genuine T-5R. ABOVE RANGE on autocheck!there's over $5k in just brakes, suspension and wheels.. dont get me started on all the iPd hardware!volvo/european parts are *extremely expensive.. car is already manual swapped cleanly with all OEM components right down to the correct shift knob and boot for T-5R (you'd never know it was ever automatic).front bumper on these cars are discontinued and highly sought after as well..the only flaws are the clearcoat has flaked so the paint aint great (very common on these cars) and front bumper has some scratches on the bottom.title in hand.

I ordered this Beautiful T5R special edition, one of 1200 manufactured (Note the X in the VIN, only the original cars had this), in 1994 at the Paris auto show, When it arrived in Germany in early 1995, I flew there and drove it around Europe for six weeks, then shipped it home to Oregon where it has never seen a salted road and has always been garaged or stored. On the autobahn it easily reached 175 mph, zero to 100 kph in 5.2 seconds. The original special suspension has been upgraded with Stage 3 IPD Bilstein shocks/struts, cross drilled rotors, stainless brake lines, stage III sway bars, tower brace, lowering coils. Engine mods: MSD ignition, intake system, stainless exhaust, all red silicon hoses, and IPD CPU flash. Belts were changed at 60k KM, oil is changed every 3k KM, brake fluid every 3 years and antifreeze every five years. The odometer reads in KM (Kilometers) so the miles on it are multiplied by 0.6 to get miles which is 57k approx. I will supply the original German license plate,the original T5grrr plate which it wore while being tested for the Oct 1996 issue of European car magazine and the 1996 IPD catalog which featured this car and my Volvo 544 on the cover and inside. The magazines and catalog come with the car. The interior is as new and smells new as shown in the photos. Some professional repainting has been done due to scratches while stored but the finish is good. Everything works well, performs well. Tires are at 50% average. This has been an extremely reliable car and absolutely sings on the highway, handles like a dream and has great power. It has traction control and a multi mode transmission that absolutely snaps from gear to gear, it will break traction at 60 mph. Oh, and a freshly laundered soft cover is supplied as well. The cover photo is great great shot of the car on the Oregon coast in 2006. The car still looks that good and the other photos were taken this last summer. Professional estimators state the car is worth at least $25,000, Some notes on maintenance: There are no oil leaks anywhere. The rear sway bar was replaced under warranty in January . The passenger side half shaft was replaced about 7 years ago due to a ripped boot and CV joint contamination. Turbo drainback tube seals were replaced at about that same time. The alternator was replaced in 2006 as were all belts including the cam drive belt. Indicated Mileage was 60,000KM. Oil is changed at 3000 KM intervals using only synthetic. Brake fluid is changed according to factory schedule and antifreeze has also been changed. Transmission fluid was changed at 30KM and 60KM with synthetic fluid. I do have maintenance records . I also have a complete maintenance and drivers manuals on CD, all original manuals and 3 keys, 2 remotes come with the car. It has been painted however and matching red silicon hoses added. It uses about 1 qt of oil in 5000 km. (3000 miles) The turbo is stock but the ECU has been upgraded for the maximum HP that the transmission will handle without reliability problems and delivers 285 HP to the front wheels. The airbox has been replaced with the K&N filter for better breathing. The stainless exhaust uses an Edelbrock stainless muffler which adds a a smooth rumble without excessive noise. The headlights are aftermarket but the originals come with the car, they are very easy to replace. The car is spotless but the photos in the ad are not professional of course so the shadows don't do it justice, I took them a year ago during the summer, now it is raining and probably worse. The leather has been conditioned regularly so it is as near factory original as possible, smooth and no trace of drying or cracking. The suede trim on the seats will always look ruffled as is the nature of suede. The carpets are a Charcoal color and are original, they are not black.The transmission is filled with synthetic fluid which has been changed every 25K, Coolant 25K, brake fluid changed as test strip indicates, about every 3 years. 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo, in a rare color with low mileage! Bone stock, never modified or messed with. This is that unicorn you've been dreaming is out there! Below is the back story regarding this vehicle: I'm reluctantly listing this gem for sale. I purchased it from a Volvo collector who had it stored in his climate controlled basement for 7-10 years! (Last two photos) It was regularly started, and occasionally moved over the years, but hasn't seen the road in those 7-10 years. I had an 850 well over 10 years ago, and told myself I would one day purchase another. Always keeping my eyes opened for that perfect 850, I came across this lovely example and couldn't pass it up. Drove it away from the previous owners home, with the largest smile on my face. I did a roadside oil change, and drove it over two hours home. It performed flawlessly without any surprises. Once I got it home, I had the oil changed once again with a quality Wix filter, and Pennzoil platinum synthetic motor oil. Unfortunately selling it at this time makes the most sense for me, so now it's being offered here. With hopes it will find the perfect home, where it will finally be driven on the regular! Condition of Vehicle: This 850 Turbo has no check engine lights, no exhaust smoking of any kind. It's always been a non smokers vehicle. Obviously with it not being used in a very long time, changing all the fluids and tires are a given. The tires have excellent tread, and are in like new condition but are old. I cannot confirm if the A/C works, as it's freezing out currently but the heater does indeed work! The upper motor mount will need to be changed, as the rubber bushing has deteriorated a good amount. Also, the leather on the very upper passenger door where the lock is located is shrunk. This could be easily repaired, but I've left it as is in original condition. The original owners manual, and all booklets are included. Again, I drove this over two hours home without a single flaw but I feel the smart move would be to have it shipped somewhere if you live far. But that decision is on the buyer.
