This car drives great. Just Passed NC State Safety Inspection on January, 14, 2019 (and total Inspection Fee is only $12.75 because no emissions testing is required for this car). We've treated it like a family member. We are sad to say goodbye, but our son is going to college and cannot take a car with him. Rare 4-Door Full Hatchback. Seats go individually down. People die every year because they can't open their windows when trying to escape from their vehicles. Hand-crank windows are much safer. It does have power locks, but those can be overridden manually, so you have the best of both worlds-- AUTOMATIC SEATBELTS! Yes -- very rare to find on cars that are running strong like this. No effort and save time- just sit in car and it automatically buckles you up.-- FIT EVERYTHING INSIDE -- Hatchback -- with seats that fold down. You can fit more in this car than in cars twice the size.-- MOST RELIABLE CAR I've ever owned. Always starts right away. Never needs anything -- just change oil and feed it gas and it should last at least 200,000 miles more says the mechanic.-- SUPER GAS EFFICIENT -- save lots of money as this thing sips gas-- Every mechanic knows how to fix this car. No sensitive electronics constantly breaking. Parts are plentiful (unlike much newer cars) because so may millions of these were sold and easy to install. -- Heat, Radio, Cruise Control still work great-- SAVE $$ -- your taxes on this car will be lower than just about any car because the year made will qualify you for about the bare minimum of NC state taxes each year. -- Tight turning radius -- turn around easily in spots where other cars need to make K-turns.-- Access more parking -- this compact car fits into small spots (and spots designated for compact cars) and is a great city car, yet has more storage capacity with its hatch with seats down than most sedans and large cars.-- Virtually theft-proof -- don't need to lock it -- no one would dare steal it-- Spare tire-- Great commuting or just around-town car.-- Body is strong and built with real steel -- no plastic body here. This car protects you in a way that newer cars don't. They don't make cars like this anymore.-- Nice acceleration for a gas-efficient car. Step on the gas and it accelerates faster than my newer cars.-- Interior red velour like upholstery material is in really good shape. All of our guests in this car give us a "wow" about the interior condition and another "wow" once the automatic seatbelts buckle them in.-- Qualifies as an "antique" so you can get special prices on insurance, special license plates, etc.-- Tons of inexpensive parts of this car are sold new and used. It was the best selling car for many years and-- This is the LX Model -- which means it has power control and cruise control (that works great) and lots of other features.-- This car will likely rise in price due to its unique automatic seatbelts, something some car enthusiasts seek. Car is great for the Classic Car collector, too.-- Takes regular gas.Here are a few things that are imperfect about this car:-- A/C doesn't blow cold. -- back bumper cracked on top and front has a crack that can be epoxied -- can be replaced inexpensively (lots of parts because it was such a popular car)-- could use an exterior paint job as paint is original manufacturer paint. The car is red with gray interior (great color combination on an Escort). The tires, brakes, front end, engine and transmission all seem to be in good condition. The car starts easily and drives straight down the road. The interior looks exactly how you'd expect a 51K mile car to look. There are a few touchups that were made on the exterior. Underneath the vehicle there is some flaking, which is exactly what you'd expect on a car from Cleveland. We believe all options work correctly. 183,000 miles. 5 speed manual newer tires. New clutch. Newer breaks. Never missed an oil change or tire rotation (since I’ve owned it). Last owner was a mechanic. I have paper trail of everything that was done to it. 35 MPG! Selling to pay for truck repairs. It will need a new axle boot but it’s not too urgent. I’ve used it for ice fishing, deer hunting, trapping. It’s seen it all. Great scouting/ hunting rig or just a good commuter vehicle for gas mileage.

For Sale: 1995 Mercury tracer. Same as Ford escort. Only 47,000 miles. Runs and drives great. New timing belt and water pump. 4 new tires. New exhaust. Recent battery. Great on gas! Rated at 31MPG. Loaded! pw,pdl,tilt,cruise,am/fm cassette,driver and passenger airbag. 2 sets of keys. Ice cold a/c and hot heat. Everything works. Slight exhaust leak from manifold when cold that goes away once warmed up. Driver window sometimes needs some finesse but works all the way up and down. Body in good shape for its age. Paint shines nicely. Has sap stains on horizontal surfaces that can only be seen if you are up close. Otherwise very presentable. All glass is in great shape. These cars were known for being very dependable and economical. Gas miser and only requires 4 qts of oil at oil change. Can't buy a comparable year corolla or civic in this good of condition with such low mileage.
