Fast and fun! Drives great, the only reason I'm giving it up is because of limited space. This 944 is a wonderful driving example of an S2 convertible and evident that it has never been abused. The power feels great with excellent low-end torque. The brakes are responsive and steering is very tight. There are no squeaks or rattles. This 944 is offered with original car manual and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name. Seller is not aware of any prior accidents and believes this 944 retains all of its factory paint and panels. Four new Continental tires were mounted approximately 7000 miles ago and balanced on the factory 16 polished alloy wheels. The car is powered by a 3.0L DOHC inline-four mated with a 5-speed manual transaxle. The 944 S2 cab shows just over 113k miles and is offered with service records dating to early 2000s. The convertible top is functional as a manual top and the black factory boot cover is included. The black leather interior features power windows, power locks, cruise control. An aftermarket radio was added by a previous owner. The air conditioning system is working. The belt and water pump were inspected recently and both appear to be in good condition with no leaks or visible wear. All the lights function properly as well.

HISTORY OF THE PORSCHE 944The Porsche 944 was introduced to the market in 1982 and was based on Porsche’s successful 924 platform which featured a front engine and rear wheel drive layout. Porsche mounted the transaxle in the rear, providing a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution which made 944 one of the best handling cars of its era. The four cylinder engine featured revolutionary counter rotating balance shafts that gave the engine the smoothness of a six cylinder. 1989 saw the introduction of the 944 S2 powered by an enhanced 3.0 liter 16-valve engine with dual overhead camshafts that produced over 200hp. 0-60 time was under 7 seconds and top speed was in excess of 150mph. Porsche, always better know for the 911 models throughout their history, had a few makes that strayed from traditional design in attempt to find something different. One might look back and find that a model like the 914 to be a less successful venture out into finding something new being deemed “the ugly duckling". In the case of the 944, the model found... decent amount of success being a more affordable model by Porsche that still maintained a sexy and sporty outer appearance down to its aggressive front fender lines that made this car look like it meant business. A few versions of the 944 came out offering 3 engine variants throughout its production consisting of a 2.5-liter, 3.0-liter, 2.7-liter, and a 2.5-liter turbo, all of which are inline 4 cylinder. It should be noted that the 2.7-liter option was only made available during the 1989-year model of the 944. This Porsche packs the 3.0 liter under the hood, exclusive to the S2 model, which delivers an impressive 208 horsepower with 207 ft/lbs of torque which proves to be more than plenty of power to move this small beauty helping this car live up to a performance legacy laid down by Porsche. This engine is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission which transfers power back to the rear axle featuring a multi-link independent suspension, giving the driver a similar feeling to being in a race car that handles like it's on rails. The Porsche also features power seats, power windows.
