Selling my 1997 Volvo 850 R. Even though this one has higher miles, it runs incredibly well and since it lived in California until 2 years ago, it has no rust. The previous owner was a serious Volvo enthusiast and put some love into making it purr like a kitten. I'm pretty sure it's one of the better running, and mechanically sound 850R's you're going to find. Recently passed NY inspection with the switch of the plates from CA to NY. In my ownership it has been brought to a true Stage 0 with countless things being replaced within the last 5000 miles. All parts were either Volvo or a name brand alternative. The highlights include: Timing belt, PCV system, front and rear suspension, front brakes (including stainless lines long enough for 302mm rotors), turbo rebuild, silicone vacuum lines, IPD silicone turbo coolant lines, Bosch "White" fuel injectors (refurbished by ARD), radiator, heater core, front wind shield, and a bunch of other things I'm sure I'm forgetting. The only mechanical issue left is a small oil leak from the rear main seal... which is pretty much a leak found on any 850 this old. It loses maybe 1/2 a quart between oil changes. I've also done a few things cosmetically: white S70 door handles re-keyed so that the original key works... one key for doors, trunk and ignition; S70 / Euro side markers; headlight wiper delete (with proper no-holes trim pieces); SEM painted trim pieces; 960 lip spoiler; 960 steering wheel professional refurbished along with shifter and arm rest; and Cover King Neo Supreme seat covers. It also has a working FOB, and the plastic rear trunk liner, both of which are rare to find on these cars. Inside, all the buttons work and everything is nice and clean. AC blows cold. Heat blows hot. All the speakers work. There's are a few blems here and there, but for the most part everything looks good. The notable exception is the original drivers side seat. Underneath the Neoprene seat covers the original seat has a small hole in the bolster, and while the seat bottom is in one piece it has seen better days. The passenger seat isn't too bad. Outside it looks pretty good as well. The paint still has a good amount of shine and considering it's over 20 years old there aren't too many dings and scrapes. The only real thing of note is some trauma on the rear passenger wheel well. Tried to show it in one of the pictures. Bumpers and spoiler could use a respray. The front R bumper was gone before I got the car, but I still have 3 of the original Volan wheels. I also have a box of parts, including the some of the original replaced parts (broken trunk cd changer, fog lights, fuel injectors, door handles, headlight wipers and trim) that will be included as well. Shipping / Delivery - Buyer pays for shipping and will have to set up all arrangements. With that said I am able to be flexible in scheduling and willing to do whatever a buyer needs to prep the car. I am also willing to consider driving the car to an East Coast location so long as gas and return transportation is paid for.

I have had this car for 7 years -- it was my daily driver until three years ago. I parked the car when the turbo failed. Only a handful of Rs were made. I would keep this car as it is a solid California car, but I do not have the space or time to deal with it.
