Original MSRP on this vehicle was $32,440 - about 5k higher than a base model, and these cars were limited production. The Volvo S70 is a niche car among Volvo-loyalists. Only 243,078 were produced between 97-00. This specific vehicle happens to be in excellent condition and was maintained at local Volvo dealership. Recent tune-up and new engine mounts per dealer suggestion are reflected on the carfax/service history. Vehicle comes with two keys, remotes, valet key and owner's manual. It is my pleasure to offer this extremely rare 1998 Volvo S70 T5 with the even more rare five speed manual transmission for a NO RESERVE auction. This car is the needle in the haystack. In the 8 years I've been doing this, I can count on one hand the number of manual transmission T5's I've come across. I would rate the exterior of this S70 T5 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. This Volvo is finished in classic Emerald Green over Tan leather interior, which is a good color combination. The dark green finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find much worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this S70 T5. The body lines are all nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding is present and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels are specific to the T5 cars and show well. The tires are a matching set of Michelins that show good tread all around. Pride in ownership shows throughout this rare Volvo. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how exceptional this S70 truly is. I would also rate the interior of this S70 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The tan interior contrasts nicely against the dark green exterior. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. A full set of factory carpet floor mats as well as a full set of factory all weather floor mats. Both front seats are heated. The leather seats are clean, comfortable and show minimal wear for their age. The power windows, locks, seat, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory speakers. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent temperature controls for the driver and passenger. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. This has to be one of the most complete Volvo cars I've come across in quite some time. This Volvo comes with a set of factory carpet floor mats, factory all weather floor mats and a set of lambswool floor mats. This rare Volvo comes with $500 worth of floor mats!!! In addition to three sets of factory floor mats, this Volvo comes with three keys, two remotes, a complete set of books and manuals as well as extra magazines for the CD changer. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this rare Volvo. This S70 T5 has been obviously carefully driven and meticulously maintained by her previous owners. The trunk is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how exceptional of an opportunity this Volvo S70 T5 presents. Mechanically, this Volvo appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.3L high output turbocharged engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The turbo spools up quickly and brings on smooth power all the way to redline. The only bad thing I can say about this Volvo is that, one time, the headlights would not come on. It has not happened since for me to look into it further. These cars are know for faulty switches as they age so the culprit is likely an aging ignition or headlight switch...both of which are inexpensive and easy to replace once you figure out which one is the source of the issue. This rare Volvo is an absolute pleasure to drive. The clutch feels light, engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the rare and desirable five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. If you've been looking for one of these, you know how rare they are to begin with...let alone finding one in this condition and with this pedigree. As I mentioned earlier, this car was obviously loved, meticulously maintained and is one of the most complete Volvos I've seen in quite some time. In the glove box is a full set of owner's books including service records from new through 125k miles, which is most likely when it changed hands to its second owner. It was sold new and serviced by Almartin Volvo in Burlington, Vermont until it was sold to its second owner and went to Virginia. It is wearing two timing belt service stickers, the most recent one showing done at 141k miles. This S70 T5 is original Volvo from the battery to the brake pads. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this rare car. If you are a discerning buyer who wants a complete and correct version of a unicorn car, this is the one.
